ITP V.021

HAPPY NEW YEAR to ITP V.021 READERS WORLDWIDE!!!

Putting a disappointing 2020 behind us, we move onward into this new year hoping to get back to some sense of  "normal" and hoping the music industry can get back on track considering 2020's mass gathering COVID19 shutdowns.

Due to COVID19, substantial 2021 touring won't return into SUMMER or/and FALL of 2021 at the earliest.

That of course, pending the new COVID19 vaccines, in order of priority.

So please, MASK UP, WASH YOUR HANDS, practice physical distancing, STAY HEALTHY and SAFE as we prepare to conquer COVID19 and bring back the touring industry.

Do get VACCINATED against COVID19, as that may be a MANDATORY requirement for going to mass gatherings and concerts in 2021.

A mighty HAILS to essential and front line workers for their bravery and all that they do.

Condolences to all we lost in 2021, including those whom suffered from COVID19.

R.I.P. to GEORGE FLOYD and BREONNA TAYLOR and all victims of police brutality. #BLACKLIVESMATTER. .

ITP V.021 would like to bring back REVIEWS this year, perhaps in February or MARCH of 2021 after I buy a new set of speakers for my computer.

 ITP also thanks READERS WORLDWIDE...

ULVEHYRDE: POST NEW TRACK "JARLEN"

Norwegian black metal warriors ULVEHYRDE have posted "JARLEN", a track from the bands anticipated debut release "ENGLEMAKERSKEN", due to be unleashed in 2021 (release date T.B.A.) via DUSKTONE.

FROM DUSKTONE:

ULVEHYRDE has just released a first brand new single, “Jarlen”, via Dusktone, taken from the upcoming debut album, Englemakersken , to be released in early 2021 Norsk black metal conglomerate Ulvehyrde is hailing from Hønefoss and featuring past and present members from Beastcraft, Vulture Lord, Sarkom, Angst Skvadron etc. they are planning to release the debut full-length album on both 12" LP vinyl and CD format. It is known that Norway is considered, without any doubt, the cradle of the worldwide black metal movement and Ulvehyrde fully represents the incredibly misty and dark spirit that comes out of those lands. Their music is a pure fundamental mid-tempo black metal based upon old, dark, Norwegian history. An excellent, obscure and deeply cold release that spans the true norwegian black metal spirit and ULVEHYRDE pays perfect homage to the dark denizen of the nocturnal glades, and is a true paean to backwoods malignity.

THIS ENDING: SET TO UNLEASH "NEEDLES OF RUST", POST NEW TEASER

Stockholm, Sweden based melodic death metal warriors THIS ENDING have posted a teaser for the bands anticipated new release  "NEEDLES OF RUST", due to be unleashed 5/28/2021 via BLACK LION RECORDS.

THIS ENDING unleashed "GARDEN OF DEATH", 4/22/2016 via APOSTASY RECORDS.

FROM BLACK LION RECORDS:

May 28th 2021 sees THIS ENDING returning with a true melodic death metal masterpiece called “Needles of Rust”. Nine songs of Apocalyptic, Brutal yet Catchy melodic death metal back to the roots of what was done earlier in A CANOROUS QUINTET. “Needles of rust” was recorded, mixed and mastered at Wing Studios by Sverker Widgren, To give the album cover the necessary atmosphere Björn Gooses of Killustration was hired once again (as on the previous album “Garden of Death”) to take care of the artwork and layout. Overall the lyrical themes for the Needles of rust album deal with different kind of nightmare scenarios. Some lyrics are loosely based on real events and things that has happened over the world. Some are just about nightmares as an overall phenomenon. All lyrics are up for personal interpretation, I just try to give a glimpse of what went through my head when I wrote them.

PAUL MASDIVAL (CYNIC): " A new record will see the light of day in the new year, along with a plan to organize a virtual musical memorial/celebration of Malone and Reinert."

PAUL MASDIVAL, vocalist, guitarist of Florida, U.S.A. progressive death metal warriors CYNIC has thanked fans for support as he grieves bandmates SEAN MALONE and SEAN REINERT death.

SEAN MALONE, bassist for Miami, Florida progressive death metal legends CYNIC passed away 12/9/2020 at 50. No cause of death has been given at this time.

SEAN MALONE performed on the classic CYNIC release "FOCUS" (1993) and has authored many music theory books.

SEAN REINERT, former drummer of Florida, U.S.A. progressive, technical death metal warriors CYNIC died 1/24/2020 at 48.

CYNIC unleashed "KINDLY BENT TO FREE US", 2/14/2014 via SEASON OF MIST.

FROM PAUL MASDIVAL:

Having lived through the loss of my two Cynic lifelong musical bandmates/friends in 2020, I’ve become intimate with the energy of grief. One thing in particular is experientially clear to me now:
We are all living in a kaleidoscopic process of change. A constant flow.
Sometimes we shift a little, and blue is dominant, we shift again and pink is dominant. Our identities are like that. There is no free standing self. We are a flow of awareness that rests on the body. We are awareness itself.
When I first heard the news about Malone's death earlier this month, I went from being actively engaged in a creative process to feeling like I was suddenly up to my neck in quicksand. I was unable to play my guitar for weeks, and found myself expending whatever energy I had cleaning and organizing my home. Grief is the most powerful experience; it wipes everything else away.
Thank you for the support and comfort I've received. I'm reminded through your messages, that we're all in this together and that the Cynic family has endured through a lifetime of kaleidoscopic change. A new record will see the light of day in the new year, along with a plan to organize a virtual musical memorial/celebration of Malone and Reinert.
I know this has been a turbulent year for everyone. Loving and kind New Years wishes to you all. May you have peace of mind, freedom from fear, may you have everything you need; love, shelter, food, and good health.
