New Zealand and Sweden based atmospheric black metal warriors SOJOURNER have posted a video for the title track from the bands anticipated new EP release "PERENNIAL", due to be unleashed 6/4/2021 via NAPALM RECORDS.

New Zealand and Sweden based atmospheric black metal warriors SOJOURNER have announced singer CHLOE has left the group as the bands are looking for a replacement.

SOJOURNER unleashed  "PREMONITIONS",  5/8/2020 via NAPALM RECORD

 FROM SOJOURNER:

So, yesterday we finally returned with news and a new song/video! The video is sitting at 12.5k views in just under 24 hours!
How did you all like “Perennial”? 😃

Yesterday we finally released a new song and we hope you liked “Perennial”! We wanted to also give you a little bit more info on our new members, starting with Tom O'Dell.
Fans may recognise him from various other projects; as well as guesting on “The Event Horizon”, Tom has been active in the atmoblack scene since 2017 with his solo project
Dwarrowdelf
, most recently releasing the album “Evenstar” to critical acclaim. He’s also the guitarist/occassional vocalist for up-and-coming UK power metal act
Battle Born
, who burst onto the scene in 2020.
Statement from Tom:
“I’m beyond excited to be a part of Sojourner. I’ve been a huge fan of the band since I heard the opening notes of “Homeward” back in 2017 and fell into the wonderful world of atmospheric metal. I’ve had the privilege of calling the Sojo guys friends for years, and now I’m honoured to call them bandmates!”
Remember you can preorder the limited edition vinyl of our EP at the following link:

Now for the final introduction of our new members, and now we present Lucia!
Lucia has been active into the Italian folk scene as singer of the progressive/folk band “Trewa” , as member of the “Celtic Harp Orchestra” and occasionally collaborating as session singer with some other local bands like “Ephyra” which she has joined for an entire year temporary replacing their previous singer; in the last few years she also took part in a new Electro Ambient project called “Monochrome The City” which has drawn her into a completely different atmospheric soundscape.
Lucia states:
“I have always loved the way Sojourner's musical atmosphere can literally transport you to a different dimension and now I feel very honored to be able to participate in the creation of their vibrant landscapes...and also I can't wait to hit the stage with the guys! Hopefully this will happen soon!”

FROM NAPALM RECORDS:

Pre-Order Perennial here: https://smarturl.it/Sojourner-Perennial Out on June 4, 2021 Vocalist Emilio says: about “Perennial”: "With wanting to revisit the old style of SOJOURNER I decided to tap into our roots on a lyrical level. 'Perennial' very much follows the thread of nature and it’s loss at our very own hands. This theme was prevalent in several songs on our first album so it made sense to revisit that. The vocals were meticulously worked on with Lucia to make sure that every single word worked in its tone and placement. Later, with Tom joining in on backing vocals at the very end, we truly felt happy with the end result. We are super excited about our future with our two new awesome members!" 4-day passes (all venues) for MDF 2022 are on sale here:
Over the next month or so, we'll have a better understanding of how many more bands can still be added to the lineup. Either way, more bands will be added soon, and we hope to have the lineup complete by late May/early June. There's also a few bands that were booked for 2020/2021 that we're still awaiting a final answer from.
Once we finalize the lineup we'll be able to inform you about which venue each band will be playing.
The day of performance scheduled for originally booked bands for 2020/2021 will remain the same in 2022. All bands that were originally scheduled to play at Soundstage will remain at Soundstage.
All other ticket options, including single day/venue tickets, will go on sale once the lineup is finalized. As a reminder, all existing 4-day pass holders, including the various early bird options, will have access to all of the venues and do not need to pay any difference to see the additional bands that are being added to the lineup. That being said, if you'd like to contribute an additional amount to help compensate for the increase in band and production expenses that were not budgeted for when we set out to plan this edition of MDF nearly 2 years ago, you can use the Covid-19 relief option on the Eventbrite ticket page to contribute any amount you wish.
Covid relief here:
As a reminder, we still have merch available at the link below, including new T-shirt and long sleeve designs by Mark Riddick.
If you already ordered and are still waiting for your item(s), everything will be mailed within the next week. We've had a lot on our plate recently and fell a bit behind on mailings, so apologies for the delay.

As the legendary John Peel once said of The Fall, “Always different, always the same,” so too one could say the same of Darkthrone. Things change, times change, people change, and yet even when sounding fresh and new and delivering just five tracks in 45 minutes on their 19th album, Eternal Hails, the Norwegian black metal legends remain defiantly and eternally Darkthrone.
