Promoters have announced the details and lineup of the DAMNATION FESTIVAL set to take place
10/24/09 @LEEDS UNIVERSITY UNION, LEEDS, ENGLAND. FROM THE DAMNATION FESTIVAL:
The UK's finest metal event, DAMNATION FESTIVAL, will return to Leeds this October following the sold-out success of last year's showcase.
The festival - voted the 'Best Event of 2008' in Britain by readers of Terrorizer Magazine - will be hosted at Leeds University Union, on Saturday, October 24.
And with a longer day planned, more bands and fewer clashes between the three stages it promises to be the biggest and most exciting edition yet.
Festival Director Gavin McInally said: "Each year we've strengthened the event and improved the line-up and the fans have supported us from our daunting first year at Jilly's in Manchester to a sold out 3,500 capacity day of metal mayhem in Leeds which witnessed the triumphant return of Carcass in November.
"To try to re-pay that support, this year doors will open from 1pm which will allow more bands across our three diverse stages and where we can, we will avoid clashes to allow fans to get the most out of the day.
"As always the tickets will be kept to a bare minimum cost although there will be no expense spared in dragging the best in death, thrash, grind, black, doom, experimental and straight-up heavy rock and metal from across the globe to take the stage at Damnation."
"With an exciting UK comeback show, death metal favourites, post-rock genius and a heavy dose of rock action already on the cards, it's going to be quite a line-up."
Damnation Festival - which is proudly sponsored by Jagermeister, Terrorizer and Rock Sound magazine - will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Leeds University Union.
Tickets will be available from all usual outlets including See, Ticketline and Leeds Tickets.
Atmospheric metallers ANATHEMA, London rockers FIREBIRD and death metal trio MITHRAS are the final names to be added to this year's DAMNATION FESTIVAL.
Anathema and Firebird complete a heavyweight Jagermeister Stage which also includes Life of Agony, Destruction and Therapy? while Mithras will open a Terrorizer Stage crammed with extreme metal talent including a one off Lock-Up show, Mistress' last ever performance and a Rotting Christ exclusive.
Damnation Festival will take place at Leeds University Union, on Saturday, October 24, 2009.
