ITP SPORTS: SOME NEW YORK BASEBALL and SPORTS MEMORIES

So what's it like in NYC when a New York team wins a championship in dramatic fashion, awesome, it brings everyone together. I was speaking to a friend about New York sports, and being that we're around the same age, me little younger, I asked my friend where were you during some major New York sports victories.
It sparked a convo as he we reminisced about postseason sports history while listening to the new SLAYER which I shall review tonight. The dude that parachuted on the field during game 6 of the 1986 WORLD SERIES, that was awesome, and his sky dive or base jump-(don't do that it's illegal)
is featured on this video. This interview with Wally Backman (former second baseman of the New York Mets) shows the dude parachuting on the field in the wildest and most amazing game in world series history. I was only 16 watching that 1986 word series, game 6, at home on TV, it was soo intense that the security in my apartment complex (10 buildings, each 20 stories high) were talking about it saying "they're still in it, they can still do it", as when the METS won it all in 1986, I can hear the entire neighborhood going NUTS and cheering, really, it was nuts..
Same thing when the GIANTS won in early 2008, NYC went nuts including subway riders, and the whole ny metro area, the Hudson valley area was lame, but I did my happy dance. However, it was North Western New York vs. Southern New York college students in 1990 (at SUNY NEW PALTZ) as the New Giants beat the Buffalo Bills by a missed field goal of only two feet, and of course awesome ball control defense and a good running game from the GIANTS... We ran around campus hugging Giants fans.
The circumstances behind Mookie Wilsons at bat: back, to back, to back singles from Carter, Mitchell, and Knight and the legendary Mookie Wilson at bat, in case you were too young to have seen that.
Same rare videos of New York sports worship, and the winning moment. Aint nothing like winning in New York. Many asked so what's it like when a New York team wins it all, fucking NUTS, as if it was New Years eve, uniting the whole city, and something you'll never forget. It's a beautiful thing, specifically for underdog, maligned teams, winning it in dramatic fashion like the METS, RANGERS and GIANTS..It almost makes me homesick.
When the GIANTS won the super bowl in early 87, New York was quieter perhaps because the GIANTS dominated the super bowl in not so dramatic fashion, and perhaps New York was spoiled on the '86 METS.
New York went nuts when MARK MESSIER and the RANGERS finally brought their long suffering fans a STANLEY CUP in '94. When other New York sports teams are not in contention, a DRAMATIC championship victory from ONE New York sports franchise, provokes a more intense celebration.
My reaction to MANNING TO TYREE's amazing catch., HOLY SHIT, OMG, FIRST DOWN, WE CAN DO IT, HE CAUGHT IT..
Congrats to the 2009 YANKEES, btw, and to my friends whom work at YANKEE STADIUM.
