SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR 2012: SHINING, ARCHITECTS , ICED EARTH and TERROR CONFIRMED

Promoters for the 15th anniversary SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR FESTIVAL 2012, set to take place 8/16-18, 2012, Dinkelsbuhl, Germany have confirmed Swedish black metal warriors SHINING, metal core warriors ARCHITECTS, ICED EARTH and hardcore warriors TERROR.

FROM SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR 2012 PROMOTERS:
SHINING dwell on the dark, depressive, sometimes sick side of open-minded black metal. Especially since the mid 00s they have been drawing attention with atmospheric masterpieces full of self-hate and self-destruction. Although since their fourth album 'IV – The Eerie Cold' there haven't been any more major leaps in the band's development, to equal this with a lack of quality would be a fatal mistake, as no one in the scene display their suffering in such an honest and gripping way as Niklas Kvarforth. Furthermore, this band does not only appeal to black metal fans, as SHINING know no musical or mental boundaries when crossing over into the outer limits of black metal and beyond. This should be one of the most exciting shows at SUMMER BREEZE 2012, you can take our word for it!

ARCHITECTS are coming to SUMMER BREEZE Open Air for the very first time. The Britons can roughly be classified as part of the metalcore genre. However, they often like to push the extremes of said genre, with technical niceties and complex song structures on the one hand and highly catchy melodies and anthemic choruses on the other, which also makes the band appeal to the postcore crowd.

We are stoked to announce one more premiere for SUMMER BREEZE. For the first time ever, the legendary ICED EARTH will fire their glorious anthems into the Dinkelsbühl evening sky. For over 20 years already mastermind Jon Schaffer has been demonstrating on each album what gripping melodic yet heavy American power metal should sound like.

You like hard music AND tough guys? Then TERROR are just the right band for you! L.A.'s hardcore maniacs don't mince word and have no consideration for injuries of any kind. Without distractions, singer Scott Vogel and his cohorts only follow one aim: to punch the crowd right in the face with their brutal New York hardcore.

ITP V.012 UPDATE 3/5/2012: BEHEMOTH CONFIRMED FOR SUMMER BREEZE 2012:
n 2010 BEHEMOTH were unfortunately forced to cancel their SUMMER BREEZE appearance. By now, everybody knows the awful reason fo the cancellation. Frontman Nergal had cancer. That's why it makes us really happy to be able to announce that BEHEMOTH will make up for the cancelled show two years later. One thing is to sing about demons, but it's an entirely different one to triumph over them and to cast them out of one's body. Not only did Nergal manage to escape the demon of death, he fought extra hard to get back into life and is already out there destroying the world's stages with his band's ultra brutal black metal (from their early phase) and death metal (currently). A feat that deserves all our respect and admiration.
