Melbourne's progressive wizards Ne Obliviscaris will release their new album Citadel on November 7 and will be taking it to their fans across the nation later that same month.
It’s been just over two years since the band released their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Portal Of I’, during that time they have risen to become one of Australia’s biggest metal exports and a band many are tipping to be one of the next big things in the worldwide metal scene.
In amongst tours with Devin Townsend, Enslaved, Between The Buried & Me, The Contortionist, Cradle of Filth & more, the band also embarked on a highly successful three week headline tour throughout Asia in 2013 that included a sold out show in Tokyo, Japan. They also achieved something unheard for a metal band having their song ‘And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope’ added to the teaching curriculum at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, one of Australia's most prestigious classical conservatories.
The band is also in the closing stages of a record breaking crowd funding campaign financing a massive world tour for Citadel. The band have raised over $80,000 via Pozible (more than 200% of their original target!) setting a new Australian record for music related crowd funding.
You can expect NeO to step things up dramatically on this album and its tour. One of the most eclectic and unique bands ever to come out of Australia leave audiences stunned by their virtuosity, presence and aural hypnotics. It truly is an experience like no other.
Adding to the night of sonic mastery are Canadian progressive death metallers, Beyond Creation whose new album Earthborn Evolution will be released on October 26. Known for their innovative and exciting, forward thinking style, Beyond Creation weave multiple themes and tempos with distinct fretless bass, wide ranging vocals and hyper active drumming that at once both suffocates and embraces you. Having made many inroads into the extreme metal scene, they are a definitely going to impress the Australian crowds!
