Polarizing Canadian black metal terror unit A.M.S.G. are once again preparing to summon the dark aeon in honour of the chaotic blacklight with their new LP “Hostis Universi Generis” which will be released July 29th on CD/2xLP/Digital.
A glorious unparalleled black metal ritual, A.M.S.G. have created one of the most singular and strangest black metal albums of the year while adhering the true ancient black metal spirit without compromise, from a time when the genre saw its fire burn brightest through mystical clandestine black metal artistry, chaos, and innovation.
By combining virulent yet melancholic time-stretching progressive black metal “Hostis Universi Generis” is a layered black metal masterwork that incorporates a multitude of sounds that build upon its already-ambitious blueprint inspired by the band’s practice of meditation ritual. Outer-sounds that include brooding saxophone passages, experimental dark ambient segments, sampling/harsh noise/electronics, and trance-like spoken word passages.

“There have been countless obstacles placed in our path, conditions fashioned by our enemies in a concerted effort to put an end to us as a whole. Amidst the chaos in which we dwell, we stand defiant and victorious with an offering that will destroy the words of humanity for 10,000 years! Thus let it be put forth, that for all its arrogance and purported grandeur, the cosmos as it exists in this incarnation is but a failed experiment put into motion by an inept creator whose very existence is a reflection of incompetence. Let this work be a solemn call for a return to nothingness!”
