THE DOORS: JIM MORRISON PASSED AWAY 45 YEARS AGO TODAY

Jim Morrison, vocalist for THE DOORS passed away 7/3/1971 of a heroin overdose in Paris, France where he is buried to this day. MORRISON's dark poetry, eroticism, eclectic intellect and sadistic indulgences raised the bar for rock, and metal front men and women to this day.

I hear JIM MORRISON had alot of visitors (at his grave) for the anniversary of his untimely death in Paris.
2002-2013: THE DOORS re-united under the name "THE DOORS OF THE 21st CENTURY", the name change in part due to a legal battle with drummer JOHN DENSMORE. Although invited to the re-union, DENSMORE declined as the other half of THE DOORS performed as "MANZAREK and KRIEGER Of The Doors".

JIM MORRISON was posthumously pardoned for his 1969, Miami, Florida charges of "Lewd and Lascivious and Indecent Exposure" behavior (no proof anyway) in 2010.

  THE DOORS are a band that has come back to me in all the misanthropic, anarchistic darkness, from when I was just 13. There's no band that sounds like them, totally unique. Also a gate way for metal and punk and darker themes before those genres existed. The DOORS age well, specifically in the metal scene, great musicians.
