FROM ALIEN WEAPONRY:
The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Alien Weaponry have been forced to postpone tonight’s much-anticipated performance at Christchurch Town Hall.
The NZSO and Alien Weaponry made the difficult decision to postpone Tū Tapatahi – Stronger Together due to an injury sustained in an accident by a band member in Christchurch today.
Guitarist and vocalist Lewis de Jong is in good health, but the accident has resulted in a broken thumb and has left him unable to perform.
After exhausting all options with how to continue tonight’s near sold-out concert experience, the NZSO and Alien Weaponry decided it was not feasible.
The NZSO’s and Alien Weaponry’s thoughts are with the many people who had tickets for tonight and were looking forward to the performance. Everyone involved in bringing Tū Tapatahi – Stronger Together to Christchurch are saddened that the concert has had to be postponed.
All tickets, whether bought from ticketing agency Ticketek or the NZSO, will be valid for when a new date is announced for the concert.
Heartbreaking image from our Christchurch misadventure ... We are feeling bummed out for our fans who only found out when you got to the show ... we really appreciate your messages of support and understanding and promise we will do everything we can to make it up to you ... You guys are the best \m/\m/
