DEAD SUN are a Swedish and Costa Rican death metal duo featuring ROGGA JOHANSSON and vocalist "THE MASTER BUTCHER".

ROGGA JOHANSSON is also known for his many metal projects including EYE OF PURGATORY, JOHANSSON and SPECKMANN, DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN, REEK, REVOLTING, MASSACRE, PAGANIZER, DEAD SUN and more extreme metal bands.

NECROGOD'S  "IN EXTREMIS" kicks off with "BRINGERS OF BLASPHEMY", a  pulverizing track of crusty old school metal featuring a drum machine and some excellent solos. At 1:26 "BRINGERS OF BLASPHEMY" evoke a chugging breakdown, as this track is sure to snap some necks and get people headbanging.

NECROGOD'S ."IN MORTAL CONFINEMENT" reeks of pure evil, with a definitive riff, the duo thrash out with convincing death metal gutturals via "THE MASTER BUTCHER".

NECROGOD'S "THE BRUTAL PATH (STRAIGHT TO HELL)" experiments with double bass and some blast beats via the drum machine. I can see it now, people banging their heads against the wall as this track is more than heavy, it's brutal and moshable.

NECROGOD'S "REMAIN THE SAME AGAIN" kicks off with an understated sludgy riff, crusty and heavy. I can hear a little BLACK SABBATH influence in "REMAIN THE SAME AGAIN" as this mid tempo track is engaging. .

.NECROGOD'S  "THE OBSESSIVE AND THE DERANGED"  is pure old school death metal madness. "THE OBSESSIVE AND THE DERANGED" features blast beats and tight, crusty, playing. ."THE MASTER BUTCHER'S ". vocals evoke pure evil, emotive as hell. At 2:38 "THE OBSESSIVE AND THE DERANGED" segues into a melodic, death metal rhythm guitar riff to close the track.

.NECROGOD'S  "MORIBUND" is another old school death metal rager."MORIBUND" features classic death metal riffing. At 1:57 "MORIBUND" slows the pace for a slower breakdown, then picks up the pace with blast beats and good guitar solos.

. NECROGOD'S "WHEN MADNESS HAS TAKEN CONTROL" kicks off with a bluesy, sludgy and definitive riff , segueing into pinch harmonics for a death and roll, groovy track. .

NECROGOD'S "IN REIGN OF GORE "kicks in with the lyric "Obey your master" as the track is quality death and roll featuring blast and thrash beats and a sludgy main riff. At 1:56, "IN REIGN OF GORE" slows down to a mid pace, to wallow in darkness with great vocals and a sludgy riff. "IN REIGN OF GORE" picks up the pace and could induce some sick circle pits.

NECROGOD'S  "IN EXTREMIS" closes with "TRANSCENDING TO PERSIST" featuring epic, melodic riffs and chord changes set to a mid pace. At 1:21, "TRANSCENDING TO PERSIST" picks up the pace with thrash beat as slow, methodical riffing drifts through the track. "TRANSCENDING TO PERSIST" closes with at a mid, almost doomy pace .

ROGGA JOHANSSON has done it again. NECROGOD'S  "IN EXTREMIS" is  tasteful, distorted headbanging fun.

NECROGOD are a duo whom play like a four piece. ROGGA JOHANSSON employs bass, guitars and a well programmed drum machine to engage and pummel the listener into some awesome old school death metal.

"THE MASTER BUTCHER'S" vocals are charismatic growls from the pits of hell, and are of good quality.

While not technical, NECROGOD consolidate good songwriting and musicianship with brutality and groove.

We can only hope NECROGOD would expand into a full band and play some live shows, this band would provoke some sick mosh and circle pits. . .

If you like some well written old school death metal with groove, plus some bluesy sludge, NECROGOD are now your GODS.
