KAYO DOT: POST NEW TRACK "GET OUT OF THE TOWER"

New York City, New York, U.S.A. based experimental rock, metal warriors KAYO DOT have posted "GET OUT OF THE TOWER" , a track from the bands anticipated new release "MOSS GREW ON THE SWORDS AND PLOWSHARES ALIKE", due to be unleashed 10/29/2021 via PROPHECY RECORDS.

This year, 2021, is the 20th anniversary of the classic MAUDLIN OF THE WELL  double album

KAYO DOT unleashed "BLASPHEMY", in 2019 via PROPHECY PRODUCTIONS.

FROM KAYO DOT:

now remit my next tithe for the battle for my soul. A song about futility and hubris.
I made a lyric video for it that you can watch at the link below. Jason Byron commented about his words that the song is "A recapitulation of 'The Knight Errant.' The mote of dust, the brave hero, tries his steel against the Tower of experience and flees in terror. Mankind's champion does not exist, nor is there a messiah, and there is no one who will save humanity from itself." He often writes about big things, but I really enjoy my unique perspective as a third party and a fan but also as a co-creator... are these lyrics about me in some way? Of course they are. "It was never, ever meant to be." Every day is a fight between this voice and the Knight who Lives.
Despite the song's dark content, it gave me a huge amount of joy to work on it. After very minimal bass guitar appearances on the last couple Kayo Dot records, it was a thrill to dive back into bass all over this new album, and this song is an indulgent example. In my last post about Alora Crucible a couple weeks ago, I mentioned albums as signposts. Usually those signposts reign over a distance of 2-3 years, as an album's process goes from inspiration through formulation, rehearsing, production, artwork, manufacturing, publicity, release, touring... so many stages that two years can go by in a blink. For me, it's just two KD albums since I played some "real" bass** but to the audience's ears, that ends up being six years. 1/7th of my life! Just crazy.
It's been a true joy to work with Greg Massi again, and his leads on this song take its intensity to another level!
Thanks to Prophecy Productions for helping get this out to the world. The album is available to pre-order at bandcamp. I hope you all enjoy the new song "Get Out of the Tower," and please do us the smallest favor and COMMENT and SHARE as much as possible! 👇👇👇
