PURE WRATH are a melodic, black metal band from Indonesia. PURE WRATH made waves in the black metal scene with his acclaimed 2017 debut "ASCETIC EVENTIDE".

Progressing brilliantly with each release, PURE WRATH have unleashed a heart wrenching conceptual offering "HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS".

PURE WRATH'S "HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS" kicks off with "THE CLOAK OF DISQUIET", entering as a folk ballad until full bad rage in with some vicious melodic black metal. From blast beats to a definitive melodic guitar riff, . "THE CLOAK OF DISQUIET" takes off into an epic, emotional story. After a melancholy break, "THE CLOAK OF DISQUIET" adds some softly sung clean vocals and good, tight drumming.

PURE WRATH'S "YEARS OF SILENCE" segues into epic and crusty riffing with light melodic piano touches for an emotive effect. At 2:56 into "YEARS OF SILENCE", PURE WRATH'S main man "RYO" melts hearts with his clean vocals and dramatic keyboards. ."YEARS OF SILENCE closes with dramatic piano.

PURE WRATH'S "PRESAGES FROM A RESTLESS SOUL" evokes definitive, melodic riffing, well written and executed. I love "RYO'S" black metal rasps and vocal phrasing, so emotive..At 4:33 into . "PRESAGES FROM A RESTLESS SOUL", RYO segues in his clean vocals as simple melodic, guitar solos take their turn into a nice break. Beautiful and memorizing.

PURE WRATH'S ."FOOTPRINTS OF THE LOST CHILD" is a dramatic banger with various tempo changes, keyboards black and clean vocals and a cinematic musical approach.At 5:00 into "FOOTPRINTS OF THE LOST CHILD", PURE WRATH take a melancholy break complete with acoustic guitar, violin, keyboards and piano, until it all blasts away. Melodic and dramatic,"FOOTPRINTS OF THE LOST CHILD" is an emotional track will tug at your heart strings.

PURE WRATH'S "THOSE WHO STAND STILL" features epic, melodic riffing, proving a track can be both epic with malevolent riffs and quality songwriting representing beauty in darkness.

PURE WRATH'S "HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS" closes with the title track, a three minute jazzy, instrumental, a funeral dirge for the fallen main character.

PURE WRATH'S "HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS" tells a story of the Indonesian mass killings of 1965-66. A mother searches, for years, for her son whom was kidnapped and beheaded. The mother seeks justice and revenge for her sons murder.

PURE WRATH'S lyrical content is insightful. PURE WRATH''S musical soundtrack is both beautiful and majestic with no shortage of great riffing and epic passages strung together with tasty songwriting.

Well performed and executed, PURE WRATH'S "HYMN TO THE WOEFUL HEARTS" is one of the better, and more revolutionary releases of 2022.
