ITP V.024 SPORTS: NEW YORK KNICKS TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD OVER PHILADELPHIA 76'ERS

FROM ITP :

The New York Knicks won last night? With less than a minute left the Knicks were losing (to the 76ers) and I turned off the TV. For some reason I couldn't sleep last night. I wake up and the New York Knicks WON. Yeesss, take that Philly.

FROM ALAN HAHN:

The Knicks are the first team in the last 25 years to win a playoff game in regulation after trailing by 5 or more points in the final 30 seconds. The Knicks trailed the Sixers, 101-96, before Jalen Brunson's corner three bounced off the rim and dropped in with 27.4 seconds left to make it a two-point game. Then came the madness. The Brunson deflection on the inbound -- why didn't Philly call timeout there? -- and the Hart instincts to grab the loose ball while Maxey was on the floor -- Philly actually did try to call a timeout there -- to give the Knicks life. The Hartenstein hustle, getting an critical offensive rebound as Embiid forgot about him and boxed out Hart instead. The DiVincenzo determination, to reset and hit what would be the game-winning shot with 13.1 seconds left after he had just missed from three moments earlier. OG's stoicism on the free throw line to drill two monumental shots with 6.6 seconds left to make a 3-point lead. And the final possession, a rattled Sixers group with no timeouts could only get a 25 footer from Embiid that bounced off the side rim. Then, the drama afterwards, from Sixers coach Nick Nurse's frustration that he was trying to call a timeout, Embiid insisting the Sixers are still going to win the series and the Sixers reportedly filing a grievance over the officiating in the first two games. And there's the euphoria of a Knicks team that won two games with late heroics and the concern that it was yet another game where the Sixers defense held Jalen Brunson in check. It's not easy forming words and organizing your mind to analyze and explain something like that just moments after it happened, but that's what we do. So here's how we did it in the opening segment of the postgame show on MSG Networks: Knicks Shock Sixers In Final Minute To Take 2-0 Series Lead To Philadelphia | New York Knicks
