Some of you might have read that streaming platforms are flooded with AI generated music immitating bands that have nothing to do with it, and those bands being targeted are now all up and arms about AI.

Rightfully so, but honestly, artists including myself have been talking about the danger and exploitation of AI, specifically AI generated images since late 2022 when text-to-image prompts became popular. There have been a couple of lawsuits filed and in California it was even ruled that A.I.'s image generation systems infringe upon copyright law. For those who aren’t into the topic and care enough, please look up my old posts.

Back then and still to this day a lot of musicians think AI generated images are some sort of toy and use it commercially for e.g. album cover. I’m not trying to be salty here, but I guess people only start caring and complaining about something when it affects themselves, and AI is imitating bands music now, just the same way as it has been with visual art for a couple years.

Bottomline of this post is and always has been for me is to stand together as creative people and say no to the commercial use of AI generated images (and music) and support real artists instead.
