 OWDWYR have posted a video for "COWER" , a track from the bands anticipated debut release "RECEPTOR",  unleashed 10/20/2023 (DIGITAL, SELF RELEASED).

Hi OWDWYR fam - We wanted to let you know about a frustrating situation we're currently dealing with regarding our music on Spotify - and more pointedly, CD Baby.

As some of you have noticed, our album Receptor has been taken down from their platform. We received a notice that their automated system flagged "irregular streaming activity" after an anomalous vertical spike in streams (about 600) occurred during a 2-day period in May 2025. We didn't even notice because we haven't been checking the data that regularly.

We want to state unequivocally: This was not caused by us. We have no idea where these streams came from, and we have never—and will never—use bots or paid services to artificially inflate our numbers. You can probably tell by how modest they are. We believe our music was either targeted by a malicious bot attack or this is a data error on Spotify's end.

Sadly, in looking into this, we’ve discovered we are not alone. Countless independent artists have been caught in this same situation, having their music removed without clear explanation due to flaws in these automated detection systems. It's a frustrating example of how much power these platforms wield, often unfairly, over the very artists who provide them with music.

We are, of course, appealing this decision. We have sent Spotify and our distributor, CD Baby, all of our data and are demanding they investigate this anomaly and reinstate our music. We will find out the answer to the question, does SpotifyCares?
