FROM PESTILENCE:

PESTILENCE STATEMENT REGARDING THE LEAVING OF ROEL KALLER
Not totally as a surprise, we are announcing the leaving of Roel as our full time bass player. To our understanding he wants to commit to his up- right bass playing and create his own jazz oriented band. Since he will not be able to focus on multiple projects, he decided for his own.
The shows that are still planned until the end oft the year, he will participate with the same energy we have come to known him for. The rest oft he guys wish him good luck with his own project!
Personal Announcement Roel:
After a lot of reflection, I’ve decided to step down from my role as bassist for Pestilence. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it feels like the right time for me to explore a new musical path and focus on projects that align with where I’m currently heading artistically. I will still be joining my bandmates for the remaining shows that are booked for 2025, but beginning 2026 we will part ways.
I’ve been listening to the music of Pestilence since I was a teenager, so being part of this band was truly a dream come true. I want to thank my bandmates for the journey we shared, and I wish them all the best moving forward. We still remain good friends, and I will keep on supporting Pestilence in the future!
Last, but definitely not least: a big thank you to all the fans who have been so supportive, and also to all new friends I made along the way! Y'all rule!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
With gratitude,
Roel.
Now, obviously, we are looking for a bass player that plays preferable (MINIMUM OF 5 BUT RATHER) 6 string bass with fingers. I have mentioned this many times before and this is a must FOR US AND OUR SOUND: This will not be a discussion topic either.
We have planned many things for 2026-2027 but with be release in February or now PORTALS!!! PORTALS is something else and also very demanding to play not just for the bass parts. We are looking for a bass player that has an understanding about music theory and is willing to give his all.
PORTALS and now even thinking beyond, our way of composing music and leveling up all the time, we need a bass player that grows with us, PESTILENCE, as musicians but has an open mind and also fits personally in the band. Will this person be YOU????? Preferably Dutch bass players only.
