Friends,

It’s a blowout.

Mamdani takes New York by storm, with over 50 percent of the vote — despite a torrent of corporate money for Cuomo, who got just 41.6 percent.

In Virginia, Spanberger gets 57.1 percent (to the Republican, 42.7 percent). And Democrats secure a significantly larger majority in the House of Delegates. Practically every county in Virginia moved to the left.

In New Jersey, Sherrill gets 56 percent (to the Republican, 43.4 percent).

Pennsylvania voters return all three Democratic state Supreme Court justices—justices who had rejected Trump’s manipulations to skew their state toward MAGA injustices—by 20-point margins.

Georgia voters ousted two Republican members of the state’s Public Service Commission in favor of two Democrats—the first Democrats to win statewide nonfederal offices in decades.

In California, voters passed by a nearly 2-to-1 margin Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Democratic redistricting map, which would offset the Republican one enacted in Texas.

Voters blocked a GOP assault on absentee ballots in Maine. They even won big in Mississippi, flipping three state senate seats to break a Republican supermajority.

Americans are speaking up — loudly and clearly. They’re saying crime and immigration are not the biggest issues on their mind, contra Trump, but the cost of living is. They want an economy that’s working for everyone, not just Trump’s billionaire buddies.

The sleeping giant of America is up and roaring.

On October 18, more than 7 million of us demonstrated against tyranny. Last night, we stood up for democracy, a fairer economy, and the rule of law.

Will today make Trump and his Republican sycophants even more determined to hold on to power in next year’s midterms at any cost? Or will they see the writing on the wall and moderate their assault on democracy and the rule of law? I hope for the latter. I fear the former.

But for now let us all celebrate these extraordinary victories.
