GWAR: CANCELS WINTER 2012 EUROPEAN TOUR

Virginia, USA intergalactic metal warriors GWAR have sadly announced that the band has cancelled thier winter 2012 European tour.

FROM GWAR: GWAR's 2011 European tour has been cancelled. Ticket sales were slow so promoters started pulling the plug on shows. Finally we had so many blow-outs that we had no choice but to cancel the whole thing. We can't afford to pay to play Europe, after all we aren't fucking tourists! But we are extremely disappointed this happened and very sorry for our fans over there, especially in light of recent events. I know everybody over there wanted to say goodbye to Flattus in a way that a only a GWAR show could provide, and we were really looking forward to sharing that with you guys.

Hopefully all tickets will be refunded (plz let us know if they are not). Again we are really sorry this happened, but there was nothing we could do. Very, very bummed...but GWAR still lives, and will return to reap a bloody vengeance too terrible to comprehend.

FROM METAL BLADE:
The European leg of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot" tour, scheduled to kick off in January 2012 has been cancelled after several promoters pulled the plug on shows for a variety of reasons that are as yet unclear.

GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie commented on the tour's cancellation:
"Several of the promoters were alarmed by the seemingly low ticket sales. Instead of sticking it out and getting huge walk up crowds with amazing GWAR shows, which is exactly what would have happened, but they decided to start pulling the plug on shows anyway. It got to the point where we had lost so many shows; it just didn't make sense to do this tour. We were going to completely eat shit, money-wise and we can't do that.

Brockie continues:
"We are super disappointed that these promoters make deals, sign contracts and then bail on the shows at the first sign of trouble. We apologize to all of our European fans for cancelling the tour, but we did everything we could possibly do to save it. We can't control the weak ass promoters who don't have the nuts to live up to their fucking promises.

In other GWAR related news, Oderus and Balsac were recently "hired" by MTV's Next Movie to review the new Steven Spielberg's new epic, "War Horse". Are your Mutant Overlords the next Siskel and Ebert??? Find out HERE.
