THE CHANCE THEATER, Poughkeepsie, NY is confirmed for sale, stated owner FRANK PALLET via the TIMES HERALD RECORD.
FROM THE CHANCE MYSPACE:
Vandalizing your local venues
is just not cool!
When coming to The Chance please respect our property and our cause.
We strive to put on the best shows around for YOU!
We strive to keep a safe and clean environment for YOU!
We do not want our patrons to be exposed to vulgar and unnecessary graffiti in our complex!
We ESPECIALLY do not appreciate our local bands coming in here, playing and then tagging up our walls with self-promotion.
We provide a stage, microphones, websites and flyer's for that.
It is completely unnecessary and unacceptable for any band to disrespect our facility in that way
From now on, any band name, logo etc, that is found tagged on our property, we will contact that band and have the members or a representative of the group come in and scrub the wording pertaining to the act off of the walls.
If this is not adhered to, we will simply no longer book your act.
Thanks for your cooperation and continued support!!!

FROM THE TIMES HERALD RECORD:
If the Chance is your favorite live-music venue, it likely
still will be for a long time to come.
Don't buy into everything you hear or read.
It's true, the Chance Entertainment Complex in Poughkeepsie
is for sale. But then, it has been for five years.
"It's something that we've been entertaining for a few
years now. It's not front-page news," said co-owner Frank Pallet in response to
a story that appeared on the front page of the Poughkeepsie Journal yesterday.
"If we sell it, we sell it; if we don't, we'll keep going. It's not really a big
deal."
Pallet has listed the complex — which includes the Chance
Theater, the Loft and a club previously called Club Crannell — from time to time
over the past five years and said he'd entertain the right offer. But, if the
right offer doesn't come along, he'll continue as he has been for 14 years.
