ROADBURN CANCELATIONS (*NO FLIGHTS TO NORTHERN EUROPE BECAUSE OF ICELAND VOLCANO)

Unfortunate news for metal fans and bands touring Northern Europe this week. Flights in and out of Northern Europe are canceled because "mother nature" has reared her head (ICELANDIC VOLCANO). Many bands whom are scheduled for this years ROADBURN FESTIVAL are pulling out due to lack of flights as a cloud of ash has blanketed EUROPE adversely effecting flight visibility.. Expect any tour dates scheduled for this week from incoming Northern European tours to be postponed.

Also, British Goth metal band PARADISE LOST have canceled out the bands appearance at Mediterranean Metal Gathering 2010 at Montekristo Wine Vaults (Club Renaissance) on the Mediterranean island of Malta
FROM PARADISE LOST: "It is with huge regret that we have to postpone the gig in Malta this weekend until a later date which will be announced soon.

"Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, and subsequent ban on planes entering U.K. airspace we have no option but to wait until this is over and try again.

"Despite both the pope initially and now mother nature doing their best to prevent us playing we are determined to make this happen."
FROM EVOKEN:
Just want to pass along our apologies to those who were looking forward to seeing Evoken at Roadburn. We attempted several ways during several hours to find a flight into Europe but, the only excuse for us not being at Roadburn was a VERY doomy volcano.

We hope to make it up sometime soon or find ourselves being part of another festival in the coming months....one never knows.

We just would like to thank Walter, the Roadburn production staff, and Tom G Warrior for bestowing us the honor of even being invited. This will not be our only attempt to play this festival!

"I wanted this soo much!! Been preparing it for months!! Then a bloody volcano on Iceland ruins everything!

"I want you to know that we really tried to see if it was possible to get down by car. If it was 12 hours in a car to Tilburg, we would have done it. But all calculations pointed to 18-20 hrs instead. And that is just too much. Our driver refused after thinking about it, and another guy we talked just laughed at us…. insanity! We would have arrived in terrible condition to Tilburg sat morning 06:00-08:00….and nobody gains on that. The show would have been so-so.

"I hope you understand. And we have to make it up to you somehow. Maybe Roadburn next year?

"Again, I feel totally crap about not being in Tilburg right now!! There's not a place on Earth I'd rather be, than at Roadburn today to give all you doom fanatics a great show!! But the gods of wrath were against us! Not much you can do about angry volcanos, I'm afraid!"
