Norwegian blackened extreme metal warriors AETURNUS have hosted a fan/band question and answer session posted today.
FROM AETURNUS: Ok so ppl wonder and ask as always: How's the new shit sounding like compared to the last album, the first album, this and that year and so on on ... and we 2think it's great.
So to answer some of your questions that seems to come back a lot, here we go:
1. Is the new album longer than Hexaeon?
- Yes it is. Hexaeon could have been longer than what it was, but it was what it is still is.
2. Do we go back to more atmospheric elements from the older (2 first) albums?
- Yes, to an extent we do, but that depends on what one means, you know?!
3. Is there Death Metal elements as heard on the last 3 albums?
- Yes there is, we still enjoy Death Metal and we do mix that into our style. Trying of course not to have the listener think about some other DeathMetal band and so forth, but what can you do?!
4. Is there acoustics and so forth on the next album?
- We have some cool ideas and material this time with acoustic guitars yes.
5. Are you going back to the roots of the older Aeternus?
- Understanding it correctly? ... No not really. We have some atmospheres that takes us/you back to the late -90's albums and so forth, but we think ahead, not backwards.
6. How's Phobos drumming compared to Eriks drumming, is he true to Eriks style?
- Phobos has his own style and what he gives the new songs with his drumming is a whole of a lot. He never tried copying Eriks drumming or style, but he has respected the foundation of drumming that Aeternus' drumming in all our songs have and he has kept some of that glow and heaviness. Phobos arranges the drums how he wants them, not how Erik would have wanted them.
7. When is the new album out?
- Next year, Can't say much more than that. Before the end of spring 2012 we hope.
8. Will there be any touring?
- We have no plans for that, though we'll put a lot of weight on doing a lot of live shows, for sure.
Ok, so that's that for now, it sums up pretty much what ppl are wondering about these days ... thanks for asking about what's going on with us folks. We appreciate that a lot. Cheers!
