OPETH: OPETH SINGER IN AN ACCIDENT,MASTODON and GHOST WILL PLAY 5/7/2012 AT MYTH, MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA

Swedish progressive death metal warriors OPETH are missing a member for tonight's scheduled show (5/7/2012) at THE MYTH MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA as vocalist/guitarist Mikael Akerfeldt has suffered a head injury due to a car crash .Mikael Akerfeldt's injuries are NOT life threatning. More details later. MASTODON headlined the (5/7/2012) Minnesota show and along with GHOST, both bands performed extended sets. Due to Mikael Akerfeldt's injuries OPETH cancelled the bands 5/7/2012 set.

I'm at the Myth right now ~ Mastodons tour manager came out a few moments ago to announce that Opeth's singer was in a car accident and "was rushed to the hospital about an hour ago" - he said as a result they will not be performing tonight. A loud groan echoed thru this huge sellout crowd of nearly 4000...including me! Bummer. No other details as to what happened or his condition have been given as of this moment - 9:27pm CDT. will post more if we here more from Mastodon who are about to start...
