JOSEPH PAYNE: FORMER (TOURING) BASSIST (NILE/DIVINE HERESY) BUSTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL

According to WSOCTV.COM, former DIVINE HERESY and former touring NILE bassist JOSEPH PAYNE was busted for 2, 900 grams of marijuana, charged with intent to sell and felony possession. PAYNE  was the touring bassist with South Carolina death metal warriors NILE 2005-2007 for North American and European tours.
In February 2007, Karl Sanders (NILE) confirmed that Payne had been fired by the band in a posting on the band's message board stating, "I guess I have to spell it out. Yes, Joe is fired." Sanders did not go on to elaborate on the reasons for Payne's dismissal. 
PAYNE was also the bassist for DIVINE HERESY featuring DINO CAZARES (FEAR FACTORY) and TIM YUENG (MORBID ANGEL). PAYNE was fired from DIVINE HERESY in 2011.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — 
More than 2,900 grams of marijuana were seized after an investigation into the distribution of the drug in the Iredell County area, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said.
Two people were arrested in connection with the investigation. Investigators said Joseph Payne, 28, and John Tringas, 23, were involved with marijuana being transported from the Charlotte area and distributed in Iredell County.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation continued into the Charlotte area with the assistance of other agents in conducting a search warrant at Payne's residence.
More than 2,900 grams of marijuana, three handguns and more than $5,000 were seized in the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said the marijuana is an exotic strain and has a street value of more than $26,000.
Payne and Tringas were charged with felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and maintaining a vehicle. 
The sheriff’s office said more arrests are expected involving the investigation.
