FROM SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR 2013 PROMOTERS:
It is a known fact that Sweden is an almost inexhaustible reservoir for extreme metal bands, and MARDUK have been among the most active among this circle since the beginning of their career. Not one year goes by without the black metallers releasing a new album or playing a tour, but it's the only way a band can reach the kind of impact that has characterised MARDUK for years now. And let's face it, the sheer inferno that is the panzer division MARDUK destroys absolutely everything. Black metal right in your face, uncompromising, evil and brutal, that's what Morgan Håkansson and his sinister cohorts will deliver in Dinkelsbühl, so watch out!

SUMMER BREEZE 2013 must rock! Something that MUSTASCH, whose booking we can confirm today, undoubtedly do very well. Tours with Motörhead, Rose Tattoo and Gluecifer, among others, prove that the Swedes have only learned from the best of the best. The four-piece have even toured with Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, meaning they can prevail in front of any audience, which will surely also be the case in Dinkelsbühl. It only remains to be seen if the title of their new album 'Sounds Like Hell, Looks Like Heaven' is to be taken literally, or if the sound guy actually does a good job. Anyway, we're pretty confident he will...

Epicness, drama, savage beauty, an emotional roller coaster ride. This is what Ireland's best band – besides Thin Lizzy – stand for: PRIMORDIAL. Few bands have been able to carry out such a convincing change from raw black metal to an absolutely serious metal powerhouse, something their last three albums underline in an impressive manner. It would be unfair to label PRIMORDIAL as pagan metal, because their combination of epic Bathory, Irish influences, classic heavy metal and incredibly intense melodies should appeal to any self-respecting metalhead. That's one more band that you shouldn't miss at SUMMER BREEZE 2013: PRIMORDIAL!

Greece has always been a breeding ground for special bands. From this crisis-ridden country hail heavy metal kings FIREWIND! After they had to cancel last year, we are more than happy to welcome them at SUMMER BREEZE in 2013. Once formed as a playground for guitarist Gus G., FIREWIND have become a true institution in the scene, having released more than a handful of excellent studio albums since 2002. This talent even got the attention of the prince of f**king darkness himself – Mr. Ozzy Osbourne – who hired Gus to replace Zakk Wylde in his solo band. But don't worry, FIRWIND can also hold their own, something we will be able to experience live in Dinkelsbühl in August 2013.

Did we have to worry about ILLDISPOSED after their last two albums didn't quite match their usual standard of quality? Honestly: No! The Danes new album 'Sense The Darkness' is best proof. It hits you on the head like a sledgehammer. Fortunately, they have freed their sound from all (electronic) dead weight, rather concentrating on what has always been their strength: playing merciless death metal! In the finest tradition of their heaviest albums, 'Submit' and 'There's Something Rotten...', the band led by down-tuned vocal cord artist Bo Summer crush, groove and bang into their beginning Indian summer. So it's only logical we didn't want to keep ILLDISPOSED from you, which is why we welcome them at SUMMER BREEZE for the second time, after their festival debut in 2007.

Today we are able to present a very special treat with THE VISION BLEAK AND THE SHADOW PHILHARMONICS. Already with his former project Empyrium multi-instrumentalist Markus Stock proved his very special artistic vision. His musical journey took him to THE VISION BLEAK, where, under his stage name Ulf Theodor Schwadorf, the mastermind will go one step further for their SUMMER BREEZE show. In Dinkelsbühl THE VISION BLEAK will play with a big classical ensemble consisting of string instruments and classically-trained singers, and together they will perform exclusive versions of songs from all four THE VISION BLEAK albums. Don't miss it!

Metal without guitars? Is that even possible? Well yes, VAN CANTO have been proving for years it is indeed possible to create metal with just five voices and a drumkit. That's why even the band's harshest critics have to respect the fact the band have been gaining more and more fans with their acapella metal without getting too close to kitsch. The band obviously feel at home in between Blind Guardian and Letzte Instanz, and exactly this target audience gathers in Dinkelsbühl every year, so the band can expect a warm welcome.

ENSLAVED have had a magical musical journey so far. Listening to the band's studio albums, one can only wonder where it will take them next. Just has their logos have changed, their music has also developed from raw viking metal to prog, which has brought them worldwide success. So it's a pleasure for us to welcome ENSLAVED in Dinkelsbühl in 2013, where they will surely manage to satisfy all followers of superior extreme metal. Because both fans of grim northern music and friends of progressive sounds will surely find ENSLAVED's music appealing.

You want a good beating? OK, we've got the right thing for you! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome deathcore kings WHITECHAPEL!!! Sure, there may be more brutal bands around than WHITECHAPEL, but the Knoxville, Tennessee natives are pretty much unreached in terms of mercilessness. Their material just pins you against the wall. Phil Bozeman and co. will definitely throw you to the floor in Dinkelsbühl with their incredible three-guitar wall of sound! So beware of the monster called WHITECHAPEL!

Bang, boom, bang! Today we are able to present another band who take absolutely no prisoners! DEVILDRIVER! The rules this restless horde led by former Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara live by are simply hate, chaos, destruction and revenge. And that's exactly the language their music speaks too. Skull-splitting riffs, haunting hooks and hyperkinetic riffs, that's what awaits you at DEVILDRIVER's appearance at SUMMER BREEZE 2013. Be there when the mother of all moshpits starts in front of the stage. Witness five Americans writing SUMMER BREEZE history! All hail!
