ITP V.013 THE MUSIC BUSINESS: TALHEIM RECORDS CLOSING

After five years of releasing groundbreaking DSBM, experimental and black metal, Austrian extreme metal record label TALHEIM RECORDS is closing the label.




TALHEIM RECORDS has/have including ground breaking black metal, DSBM and experimental bands THY LIGHT, PSYCHONAUT 4 , WALDSCHRAT, HAPPY DAYS and many more on the labels roster.

No wonder I had a hard time finding info on the news on the PSYCHONAUT 4 covers release as TALHEIM RECORDS is closing shop. Horrible news, I really was JUST getting into many of the artists on this label, including THY LIGHT. Looked more up regarding the artists on said label, and discovered other great bands. Hopefully PSYCHONAUT 4, THY LIGHT, WALDSCHRAT, HAPPY DAYS and others will catch a break else where, all are great bands well worth listening too. Please DO SUPPORT these bands.

After nearly five years of existence we are standing for the decision to close the label forever. Five years of waiving.

As we saw in the last months that sound carriers are no longer from any interest for the most of the people, the step is closer than ever. 

The last months were pretty hard and showed us that to do a label with ideals is not working nowadays. We wanted to support the underground bands with paying studio, production and many more things but thats not working. A pity for the music in anyway. If people just want to buy merchandise (t-shirts, patches, etc.) and no cds, vinyls or tapes the existence of a label is useless. 

I don't know if there will be a chance to change the situation. We had a lot of great plans like bringing back the Northern Lights Festival to Austria, live shows with awesome bands etc.

Some specials are also planned but won't be realized if the situation is not going to be better.

I promised a lot to the bands and I will hold it. A big thanks to Ellende,Waldschrat, NightForest, Ketelens' Brukke, Thyrgrim, Thy Light (Official),Psychonaut 4, Aschenglas, Obskene Sonare, Michaela, organizer of the Northern Lights Festival, Thou Shell of Death, Happy Days(Official), Seelenfrost, Morn Guruth, Amertume, Coldnight, Valfeanor, Fading Life, Nebel Misanthrop and many more!

For all customers who supported us over years, thank you, without you, we couldn't exist since the beginning.

We are active, we are going on, it is just a call to make sure that merchandise is not the music at all.
