KING DIAMOND has employed bassist PONTUS EGBERG, whom will be the stand in for HAL PATINO whom was FIRED last summer.
KING DIAMOND have announced a fall 2014 NORTH AMERICAN tour and have been already confirmed for the 2014 FUN, FUN, FUN FEST (AUSTIN, TEXAS).

We would like to announce that we have accepted King Diamond's offer to join him on the US tour this fall. The official statement from King is as follows.
"King Diamond would like to welcome Jess and the Ancient Ones as the opening act for the North American tour this fall. The occult rock group from Kuopio, Finland, was personally selected by King Diamond himself to be the openers on the tour.
Jess and the Ancient Ones is an occult rock band from Kuopio, Finland. This seven-headed entity was given birth by Thomas Corpse and Thomas Fiend, its purpose being the exploration of magical realms beyond the mundane. The band's lyrical concept is based upon the personal occult experiences of the writers, which combined with music, creates a strong mystical atmosphere. With the vocal talent Jess as their frontwoman and three guitars in the lineup, JATAO draw inspiration from heavy metal and rock groups of the classic era, such as Mercyful Fate, Roky Erickson, Iron Maiden and Abba. Finally the info has been released, and I don't have to keep it in. In June, King Diamond personally invited Jess and the Ancient Ones to be the only supporting act on his US tour. We met him and his lovely wife on August, and they genuinely like what we do, and want to support our band. So, we'll get to do something that I thought we'd never get to. And King has arranged us a longer set than the supporting acts normally have, plus other wonderful stuff. The haters will hate, and that's why we'll enjoy the whole thing twice as much. See you in the USA, in a month or so!
There are two rather important matters happening in the Jess and the Ancient Ones camp this fall. First, the band are supporting King Diamond on his North American tour in October and November. JATAO also have recorded two new songs, which will be released on November 15th on ten inch vinyl.
