FROM BARDSPEC:
Ivar Bjørnson’s BardSpec to debut at Houses of the Holistic / Roadburn Festival 2015

BardSpec is an the Ambient project/band from Enslaved composer/guitarist Ivar Bjørnson. It will debut at 'Houses of the Holistic', his and Wardruna's Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik’s curated Roadburn event on Friday, April 10th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands, and features the simple set up of Ivar, his computer, some keys, a few strings, a pedal or two and a video canon. The direction is dark, surprisingly rhythmic and hypnotic-psychedelic. Thematically, in sound and concept, BardSpec is about minimizing, cutting away, subtracting and meditating upon the simplest essence of "things"; the single points, bones and salt particles; the basic elements and building blocks that make up the whole. After Roadburn 2015, BardSpec will continue out into existence as a full-fledged band/ project, with an album release on the gloomy, pulsating horizon.

Verbum Verus, the Dutch black metal band, known for their intense live performances, will shroud Roadburn Festival in darkness with their hymns of praise. Alternating between dark moods, atmospheric pieces and furious outbursts, Verbum Verus will open the third eye of all those that bare witness, and reveal the splendour of devilish illumination.

 On Thursday, April 9th, Saint Louis, MO’s Fister will definitely bring Roadburn down to it knees through it’s blackened misery and murderous onslaught. The band’s disgust and desolation-fuelled feast of depressive sludge thrives on pure terror, and intimidation by volume and gore. There’ll be no chance to escape!

 ASHTORETH is a solo-project in search of a shamanistic perspective, channeling at times minimal, meditative drones with layers of meandering guitars, and at others a catharsis of doom, drone, ambient, folk, metal, noise and experimentation. But always in a free and improvised form. A one man journey into the unknown, exploring new sonic landscapes with every single live performance.

We’re excited to announce the timely and welcome return of Johanna Sadonis, as she brings her newest manifestation, LUCIFER, to Houses of the Holistic. She will touch the darkest recesses of our souls at Ivar Bjørnson‘s and Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik‘s curated Roadburn event on Friday, April 10 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands

Now that Worm Ouroboros are no longer playing Roadburn 2015, the vacant slot on the line up will be taken by Brussels-based Moaning Cities, who will bring their fuzzed-out, and sitar-driven psychedelia to Stage01 on Thursday, April 9.
On their debut full-length, Pathways Through The Sail, Moaning Cities offers an amalgam of The Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevators and more recent bands such as The Black Angels or Dead Meadow, infused with North African and Middle-Eastern traditional music – the band’s moody, melodic, laid back, blissfully drugged out psychedelia is heavily present and potent.
