A fire broke out last night at electronic artist GOLDEN DONNA'S show in a Oakland, California based warehouse ("GHOST SHIP"), as the show took place 12/2/2016 @ 1305 31st AVE. last night, claiming 37 lives.
The Oakland warehouse was cited for building code violations with trash littered on the premises and NOT stated for residential.
FROM GOLDEN DONNA:
Joel is safe but like many people he is heartbroken and has several friends among the missing. Please refrain from messaging this page or Joel's personal channels unless you have information on the Oakland fire victims. Sending love to everyone affected by this horrific event.
FROM NY DAILY NEWS:
A thread was created on the Golden Donna 100% Silk 2016 West Coast Tour event page where concert-goers can list themselves as safe while family members and friends can inquire into those still missing.

Devastated by the loss of Dais family and dear friend Cash Askew. She was without a doubt one of the most talented and loving people we've ever known... We will never be the same.
R.I.P., Cash.
FROM CAUSTIC:
I won't pretend I knew Cash Askew of Them Are Us Too and Prist, but I had the distinct honor of being on the same bill with her at both Terminus (with TAUT) and at DB20 (as Prist) this year. All I can tell you is the impression I got from her performing: She was the real deal, and I believed then and now that she had something very special to share with the world. That ended tragically this weekend, as she was one of the victims of the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland. I'm still in shock over it, as even though I didn't know her she was a part of our little world. We lost one of our own. Hell, many of our own, as the body count continues to rise. I feel very fortunate that another friend performing there made it out.
We are devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Barrett Clark. He was a great friend, live sound engineer and long time supporter of Castle. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. RIP, our brother in chaos.

FROM 3TEETH:
Our hearts go out the all the friends & family who are suffering losses in the wake of the Oakland fire. As the media tries to dismiss what happened as another tragic accident at an unregulated rave, it's fair to say that as the cost of living goes up, the value for human life seems to goes down. Few people will ever understand the true value of underground artistic communities and how culture is created from the underground up and not top down. It is these exact communities that help shape the cultural landscape that so deeply enriches all of our lives and it is with an understanding and appreciation of this that should be remembered with those who have passed.

FROM UNCONDITIONAL ARMS:
I will never be able to a certain exactly how the universe can shift overnight. It’s immense ability to be unfair, unruly and horrific. The dichotomy between being asleep in my bed while my friends are trapped in a burning building just 10 blocks away. The Ghost Ship fire has taken so much from us, our loved ones, and Oakland’s proudest communities.
We’ve been tucked away working on a new record. It’s very close to finished. All of us have our hearts are inside of it. We were not planning to have anything surface from it for quite awhile, but there’s really no fucking way we are just going to sit here and do nothing in the wake of this truly saddening, horrific event that has put an arrow right through our hearts. We need to help our friends. We need to help our family. We will use our art to do so.

On
Friday, December 2, a fire engulfed a warehouse in Oakland, California
leaving more than 30 people dead. Among the deceased were Cash Askew,
22, Em Bohlka, 33, and Feral Pines, 29 - all of whom were transgender.
In some of the media reporting, Askew, Bohlka, and Pines have been misgendered and their birth names used. Journalists should refer to all of them with the names shown above and with female pronouns. (Feral Pines' family has also stated that Feral sometimes used names Riley and Fyrah).
Our hearts go out to the loved ones of all of the victims.
