GOOGLE sent out a (vague reference) press release today stating GOOGLE + for consumers will be shut down by AUGUST of 2019 as user information had been exposed via a bug.
GOOGLE allegedly did a bug fix in MARCH of 2018.
ITP is NOT sure if the GOOGLE + shutdown would adversely effect GOOGLE + social networking or and BLOGSPOT. However, after reading multiple news sources, it sounds like GOOGLE + as a social network could be shutdown. BLOGSPOT consolidated with GOOGLE + in 2010 and substantially in 2012.
This is sad news indeed.
Most of ITP user engagement and hits come from GOOGLE +.
Throwing the "baby out with the bathwater" makes no sense and you would have to wonder about GOOGLE'S commitment to GOOGLE +.
ITP is running a (private) '"mirror blog" on s separate server (as I need to update that project).
