CERPHAS: STREAMING "ANIMUS MEUS" VIA BANDCAMP

Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A. ambient-drone black metal warrior CERPHAS, via BANDCAMP, are streaming the projects anticipated new release  "ANIMUS MEUS", unleashed 5/15/2019 via REALM AND RITUAL.

FROM CERPHAS:
Cerphas is no longer working with Realm and Ritual. Animus meus will be my last musical endeavor. I have nothing left to create and I am leaving music and all that is black metal behind. I want nothing to do with it again.

Though most of next offering is done I will be holding onto it. I will be stepping away from the world for awhile. I will still create music but I may not share it with the world for some time. For now I have to find a new path in life. I must find something to live for again. Unfortunately music is not enough. I do promise to be back. When that day comes I will have something to share with you all.

Historically, self titled projects are a statement of intent. An indication that what you're about to experience is the purest form of an artist's vision. What we have here presents the listener with more than that: the most personal expulsion of cosmic USBM maestro Myrdin Cerphas’ mind to date.

The debut album of his eponymous orchestration Cerphas, Animus Meus exists somewhere in the otherworldly space between ambient drone like Common Eider King Eider, the black conjurations of Sutekh Hexen, various hints of myriad industrial/electronic atmospheres and the artist’s own idiosyncratic work with prior projects Synodic, Somber Ire and Revelation None. Across nine wretched compositions no punches are pulled as disembodied howls scream agonies into an abyss of his own creation; black metal guitars seethe under immense ambient structures and masterful aural illustrations of lyrical themes that will remain unprinted for a reason - this is a soul laid bare as it burns, and some things are best to remain hidden.

For this isn’t the result of any vision. It’s far from intended as mere entertainment. Cerphas is not only the sound of a man cracking his head open to let all the hate, fear and loathing spill out onto the page, but also splaying his ribs wide apart for the listener to witness as he slowly crushes his own still-beating heart.

Animus Meus is available on pro-dubbed cassette via US label Realm and Ritual, in a limited edition of 50. Snap one up before they disappear - and enter the personal hell of Myrdin Cerphas.
