FROM MORDANT RAPTURE:
Dear friends,
It is our great pleasure and honor to share several exciting announcements for Mordant Rapture. Here’s what we have been cooking up:
First, check out the amazingly talented Mark Llamas of Weapon Rex Visual Media and his latest work featuring us, the MR boys, in a new music video for “Quell The Voiceless” from our debut EP “The Abnegation” released under The Artisan Era. We put our hearts and souls (and buckets of sweat as you’ll see) into making this video the best it could be, and Mark’s aesthetic approach was on-point in every aspect and we greatly thank him.
Secondly, please join us in welcoming our new members, Nick Van Dusen
and Walter Hartzell! Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Nick and Walter are
both highly skilled and experienced tech-death musicians that bring the
kind of drive and creativity to Mordant Rapture that will ensure we
crush it on live shows, post more sick vids, and obliterate all
expectations with the new material that we have in the works.
On joining the band, Walter says:
“Mordant Rapture captures the sound I’ve loved since I first got into extreme metal. I’m thrilled to be teamed up with a group of musicians who share such similar taste and influences, as well as my same unrelenting drive to create.”
Nick states that what drove him to join Mordant Rapture was “the intensity and depth of the music. It’s beautiful but haunting in a way and that’s exactly the kind of music I’ve always wanted to play.”
Now that our lineup is complete, and with live shows on the horizon, we have our work cut out for us, but we’re stoked as hell. When asked what everyone can expect from the new members, Nick explains:
“I plan to do the live music justice. That’s a big focus. I will be pushing myself to write the best possible drumming I can for the music we write in the future.”
As for Walter, he strives to bring to the band a “unique ear for bass, a lot of stage energy, and carpal tunnel!”
In addition to all that, we have a few more things up our sleeves that we’re excited to announce once they are finalized, so stay tuned and enjoy!
