WITHERFALL are a progressive, power metal band from LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A. WITHERFALL are a super group featuring familiar musicians bassist ANTHONY CRAWFORD (JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, ALLAN HOLDSWORTH), guitarist JAKE DREYER (DEMONS AND WIZARDS, ICED EARTH),vocalist JOSEPH MICHAEL (SANCTUARY) and drummer MARCO MINNEMANN (NECROPHAGIST, ILUSEN'S FALLACY).

WITHERFALL'S "THE CURSE OF AUTUMN" kicks off with "DELIVER US INTO THE ARMS OF ETERNAL SILENCE", a :52 instrumental conjuring epic atmospheres.

Seguing from the instrumental is "THE LAST SCAR", is a rager featuring some technical guitar, clean vocals and thrash metal madness. I love how JOSEPH MICHAEL'S vocals are recorded, specifically the harmonies. The guitar solos are excellent and shred.

WITHERFALL'S "AS I LIE AWAKE" is well written progressive power metal track as bassist ANTHONY CRAWFORD shines on this track as he can be heard clearly in the mix.WITHERFALL'S "AS I LIE AWAKE" features a great sing along chorus for an accessible track.

WITHERFALL'S "ANOTHER FACE" is a melodic, mid tempo track with slower atmospheres of balladry as the track ends in a beautiful a cappella vocal.

WITHERFALL'S "TEMPEST", enters with mid paces progressive thrash and segues into a beautiful acoustic interlude until the bands takes off with a mid paced melodic guitar riff. . JOSEPH MICHAEL'S wonderfully emotional vocals soar with the band as mid track the guys take an instrumental break as then the track returns to the main melodic riff.

The title track from WITHERFALL'S new opus enters with a beautiful acoustic track as the band segues into "THE UNYIELDING GRIP OF EACH PASSING DAY", featuring some vicious progressive, instrumental, technical metal. .

WITHERFALL'S "THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR" is a technical progressive thrash metal rager featuring exquisite musicianship and soaring vocals making it my favorite track on the record.. .

WITHERFALL'S "THE RIVER" enter as a beautiful acoustic ballad "Take me into the river...". Mid track the full band fill in the instrumentation for an 80's like power ballad.

WITHERFALL'S "...AND THEY ALL BLEW AWAY", a 15:28 minute epic features some well produced double track vocal harmonies as the band shred on some progressive metal. A few minutes into . WITHERFALL'S "...AND THEY ALL BLEW AWAY" goes mid temp acoustic rock as the full band enter in for prog metal awesomeness and good songwriting.

Within a few minutes WITHERFALL'S "...AND THEY ALL BLEW AWAY" features some epic progressive metal, instrumental jamming and awesome musicianship. .

WITHERFALL'S "THE CURSE OF AUTUMN" closes with an acoustic, slow tempo version of BOSTON'S classic track "LONG TIME". WITHERFALL perform a enduring version of "LONG TIME", beautifully performed and the vocals are emotional, stripping the song down to the core with beautiful harmonies.

WITHERFALL: "THE CURSE OF AUTUMN":is a transcending, whirlwind of epic progressive power metal and great songwriting.

As WITHERFALL are a super group of accomplished musicians, there is no surprise that this release shreds with exquisite musicianship. WITHERFALL really show off their chops.

WITHERFALL'S "THE CURSE OF AUTUMN" features enough song variety (heavy, soft, mid tempo, acoustic, instrumental) to keep even the most jaded listeners happy.
