 Polish artist, painter MARIUSZ LEWANDOWSKI  has died at 62. MARIUSZ LEWANDOWSKI has created art work for TRANSCENDING OBSCURITY RECORDS artists, BEWITCHER, NECROGOD, BELLWITCH and many other bands.

 I’m absolutely gutted to learn about the demise of one of my favourite artists, Mariusz Lewandowski. We became quite friendly over the years, having worked together for over half a dozen album covers. He was extremely humble, polite, considerate, and even motivating when I told him about my penchant for digital painting (back when I still had some time). I can’t believe I won’t see any new paintings from him ever again or get a chance to chat a bit with him every now and then.

It is with a heavy heart we learn of the passing of @mariusz_lewandowskiart

During the winter of ‘18-‘19 we had the privilege of collaborating with Mariusz Lewandowski on an original piece for the cover of “Under the Witching Cross”. While pulling from his already surreal style, he took our concept and created not only a striking scene, but a work of art that guided the listener into the album.

Thank you Mariusz for taking on our project and helping us realize our vision. Your work is beyond comprehension.

Really sad news for us today. With NECROGOD we had the luck to count with one of his amazing designs for the cover of our debut album IN EXTREMIS via TRANSCENDING OBSCURITY RECS last year.

His unique style of art will always be with us and therefor...never be forgotten.

We're heartbroken to learn about the passing of the brilliant artist Mariusz Lewandowski.

We became familiar with Mariusz in 2017 while working on our album Mirror Reaper. As an artist, he harnessed many tenets of surrealism to illuminate depths of the human unconscious that were seldom explored in the world before him. Mariusz's work creates a portal, or perhaps even a mirror, to see the breathtaking complexity and daunting beauty of this world. We are forever grateful for the good fortune to have worked alongside him for even a brief moment. His vision and work have been monumental in our lives.
