 New Orleans, Louisiana native sons GOATWHORE are a super group originally featuring members of ACID BATH, CROWBAR and SOILENT GREEN as all three bands are well established and innovative in the extreme metal scene. GOATWHORE differ from band members primary projects as this NOLA band approach extreme metal from a blackened stand point, invoking an
anti religious, "thrash 'em in black", poking God in the eye with yer gauntlets as an ultimate spit in the face to the bible belt.

Get ready for some Southern fried blackened thrash as ITP has  GOATWHORE'S "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" on tap to review. 

GOATWHORE'S "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" kicks off with "INVOCATION 3", an ominous, industrial, instrumental  intro into the next track. 

GOATWHORE'S ."BORN OF SATAN'S FLESH" is pure blackened, thrash with pronounced rhythm guitars,  blast beats and BEN FALGOUSTS unmistakable vocals. ."BORN OF SATAN'S FLESH" features a good whammy bar solo in this well written tune.

GOATWHORE'S ."THE BESTOWAL OF ABOMINATION" introduces a melodic touch to a RAGER of a track. Blast beats adorn ."THE BESTOWAL OF ABOMINATION" with various time changes to keep the listener interested and the kinds moshing and headbanging. 

The title track from GOATWHORE'S  "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" features a beautiful melodic riff before various time changes swiftly change pace in the blink of an eye. .The title track from GOATWHORE'S  "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" features a wide variety of riffs, tasty as they are, including the piano outro.

GOATWHORE'S "DEATH FROM ABOVE" is straight up punk, thrash from and for the "crusties" featuring tasty punk influenced riffs, performed fast and heavy. 

GOATWHORE'S "RUINOUS LITURGY".is a dark thrasher of a track with a good solo and a thrash drum beat. BEN FALGOUST shows off the universality of his vocals with lower tones and black metal rasps. '

GOATWHORE'S "VICTORY IS THE LIGHTENING OF DESTRUCTION" show off the bands hardcore influences with simpler approach to ruffing. However, BEN FALGOUST'S vocals give "VICTORY IS THE LIGHTENING OF DESTRUCTION" a darker and heavier edge as the band switches yo a faster pace mid way through the track. 

GOATWHORE'S "VORACIOUS BLOOD FIXATION" is a well written, complete rager with a heavy black and roll feel, resembling in parts MOTORHEAD. Halfway through "VORACIOUS BLOOD FIXATION", GOATWHORe pic up the pace, with some vicious black and roll time changes and a good solo. 

GOATWHORE'S "THE DEVIL'S WARLORDS" is some vicious blackened thrash as the track grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. One could hear the SLAYER influence in  "THE DEVIL'S WARLORDS"as the variety of riffs meld well into good songwriting. 

GOATWHORE'S "WEIGHT OF A SOULLESS HEART" is a dark, somber, mid paced blackcned track with softer mid parts. 

GOATWHORE'S  "NIHIL" is pure old school, blackened thrash. Simple in scope,  "NIHIL" is short, heavy and sweet. 

 GOATWHORE'S  "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" closes with "AND I WAS DELIVERED FROM THE WOUND OF PERDITION", a track that is an amalgamation of the bands influences. "AND I WAS DELIVERED FROM THE WOUND OF PERDITION" kicks off softly with acoustic guitars and light synths as the band crawls through the spaces in your brain with a blackened, death doom assault..

Mid track, . "AND I WAS DELIVERED FROM THE WOUND OF PERDITION" picks up the pace with blast beats and melodic mayhem with a nihilistic ending. "All Life is Lost", sings GOATWHORE vocalist BEN FALGOUST. 

 GOATWHORE'S  "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" is the bands best release to date..GOATWHORE effortlessly meld blackened thrash with punk, death metal, hardcore and blackened, doom. 

GOATWHORE' benefit from a stand out performance from drummer ZACH SIMMONS. 

GOATWHORE's "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" versatility is intertwined with excellent songwriting, great musicianship and a solid and creative performance from guitarists SAMMY DUET. .

GOATWHORE'S "ANGELS HUNG FROM THE ARCHES OF HEAVEN" is a mighty rad gumbo mixed in a tasty cauldron of good riffs and tunes.  . .
