Promoters for DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2023, set to take place 11/3 and 4/2023 BC
ARENA MANCHESTER, ENGLAND have confirmed Japanese black metal warriors SIGH for TWO SETS on "A NIGHT OF SALVATION" date.
DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2023 promoters have also confirmed AHAB, AMENRA, DOWNFALL OF
GAIA, ASHENSPIRE, STRIGO and HERIOTI. .
FROM DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2023 PROMOTERS:
Japanese black metal legends SIGH will perform two sets over two days, including an exclusive airing of Scorn Defeat.
The first show, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark debut album, will be hosted on the Cult Never Dies Stage at A Night of Salvation, on Friday, November 3.
The second set, showcasing the rest of Sigh's impressive back catalogue, will take place at Damnation the following day, in BEC Arena, Manchester.
These will be the only two shows Sigh perform in the UK in 2023.
Damnation organiser Gavin McInally said: "We made a decision early this year to go big with A Night of Salvation but even we're surprised by just how 'big' that's going to be.
"We're only three sets in of 15 and we have the incredible Sigh celebrating Scorn Defeat, Akercocke playing Choronzon and even the mighty Viking Skull making a return with Chapter One.
"We still have pretty much the entire main stage to announce and a sprinkling of Church Road Records talent to add."
"As for Damnation itself, Sigh will have the chance to showcase not just how great they were 30 years ago, but the strength and depth of their entire catalogue in another exclusive set which promises to be as popular as their rare UK outing at Damnation in 2008.
"Grab you tickets today and make sure you are part of this weekend."
Now we have everyone's attention with those exclusive Sigh sets, a recap on the ticketing situation as we've had a few messages on that front today:
A Night of Salvation is £45 (which on reflection is a little daft given the series of sets still to be announced following Choronzon, Chapter One and Scorn Defeat, but we'll swallow it)
You
can pick up a discount combo ticket for both events (£110) and pay £33 (plus booking fees) to secure it today and two instalments of £38.50 over the next two months.
Other points of interest:
There will be twice the number of food vendors.
There will be more seating.
There will be more Holy Goat beers.
And we're working on coach deals for cities across the UK to overcome the prices of hotels.
Now, let's get booked up. Link in the comments.
