1. THE HAMMER OF DOOM FESTIVAL, set to take place 11/17th and 18th, 2023 POSTHALLE, WURZBURG, Germany have kicked Finnish doom metal project GARGANTUAN BLADE off the fest due to nazi leanings.

Hello friends,

a long time ago I listened to the first album/EP of the Finnish Doom Metaller Gargantuan Blade and was immediately thrilled. So I wanted to book the band directly to the Hammer Of Doom Festival 2022, but that didn't work out at the time for logistical reasons, so we postponed the gig to this year's HOD. At this point I did not know that bandleader Samuli is also a live guitarist at Satanic Warmaster, whose early works are clearly attributed to the NSBM. I was very disappointed when I found out this last week. I then looked for the conversation with Samuli and he assured me that he does not carry any right thought and is not interested in politics either. I believe him the same, since especially in Finland the attitude to such topics is different than especially in Germany, but Satanic Warmaster continued to play songs from the unspeakable debut album "Strength & Honor" with Samuli on the guitar and even though I Samuli considers that he himself is not behind such ideology, an appearance in such a context at a festival like the Hammer Of Doom is out of the question. I shared this to Samuli yesterday as well. It's extremely far from me to be a part of a Cancel Culture or something similar and there's no reason for a witch hunt either, but it's Samuli's own decision to participate in such a band and bear the consequences, just as it is my decision to cross link this on the HOD don't want to . I'm sorry for everyone who was looking forward to the band, but we hope to soon be able to present worthy replacements.

Hello friends,

Some time ago I heard the first album/EP of the Finnish Doom Metallers Gargantuan Blade and I was immediately hooked. So I wanted to book the band directly for the Hammer Of Doom Festival 2022, but that didn't work out at the time for logistical reasons, so we postponed the gig to this year's HOD. At that point I didn't know that band leader Samuli is also the live guitarist for Satanic Warmaster, whose early works are clearly assigned to NSBM. I was very disappointed when I found out about this last week. I then got in touch with Samuli and he assured me that he has no right-wing ideology and was not interested in politics. I believe him, since the attitude towards such topics is different in Finland than in Germany, but Satanic Warmaster continued to play songs from the NSBM debut album "Strength & Honour" with Samuli on guitar on their South American tour in 2023 and even if I believe Samuli that he doesn't stand behind such an ideology himself, an appearance in such a context at a festival like the Hammer Of Doom is out of the question. I told Samuli about this yesterday. I am far away from being be part of cancel culture or anything like that and there is no reason for a witch hunt either, but it is Samuli's own choice to be part of such a band and face the consequences, as well as it is my choice that I dont want to have this cross connection on HOD. I'm sorry to everyone who has been looking forward to the band, but we hope to present a worthy replacement soon.

MIZMOR mastermind A.L.N.’s own words surrounding the new LP: “The idea behind “Prosaic” was to make an intentionally less conceptual, more slice-of-life record. I wanted to make an album that was less precious and obsessed-over, more honest and real; less grandiose and more human. I found it an interesting challenge to find the line between ‘you can do better’ and ‘you’re beating a dead horse.’ I tried to make my process more efficient and even fun at times. I simply wanted to share, but if that meant exacting all-out perfectionism, I wasn’t going to make a record. Right now I’m interested in making less self-indulgent music. The themes are the absurdity/futility/purpose/meaning of work, mindfulness/consciousness/living in the present moment/shedding illusions, depression/acceptance/contentment. This is the first MIZMOR album without any content relating to god/atheism. You also won’t hear any shrieks.”

5. Swedish epic doom metal warriors SORCERER have finished recording the bands anticipated new release.

The recordings are soon coming to a close as we wrap up the tracking of this behemoth of an album. Just some finishing touches left to do and then it's off to mix, once again with the mighty Ronnie Björnström behind the desk. 6.MARK ADAMS,  original bassist fot U.S.A. doom legends SAINT VITUS   has died at 65 of Parkinsons Disease.

I guess a lot of people will know it by now, but for those who don't here's sad doom news. Yesterday Mark Adams, bass player of Saint Vitus, passed away. Due to Parkinsons disease he was not able to play with the band since 2017, which was very sad, as he was the co-founder and allways in the band. Rest in Peace Mark.

 

7. Swedish Gothic, death doom metal warriors WHEN NOTHING REMAINS is finishing the recording of a new release.

We are just waiting for the wonderful and professional GoGo Melone to finish some guest Vocals for us.

We have set the album title to " A Glimmer of Hope".
