13. international metal festival METALFEST OPEN AIR welcomes a new, iconic name - DIMMU BORGIR to its list of confirmed bands! After last year's visit of Polish descendants of darkness BEHEMOTH, hell is now sending us another of its passionate black metal missionaries - Norwegian DIMMU BORGIR!

DIMMU BORGIR is celebrating 30 years. anniversary of their existence and during that time they became significant, key artists who left an indelible and very sharp mark of their sound in the world of metal. DIMMU BORGIR, were born right in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, and managed to break themselves out of the genre's boundaries quite quickly. They dared to combine traditional black-metal with opulent symphonic orchestration and thus became pioneers of the new field. They recorded absolutely pioneering albums such as “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant” (1997), “Spiritual Black Dimensions” (1999) or “Death Cult Armageddon” (2003) and managed to conquer the whole world with them. After their last two successful albums “Abrahadabra” (2010) and “Eonian” (2018) and the remixed version of “Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia”, DIMMU BORGIR announce their 30-year legacy by releasing a collection of their cover songs for the first time. “Inspiratio Profanus” includes a cover version of “Black Metal” (VENOM), the genre defining “Perfect Strangers” (DEEP PURPLE), the fan-popular “Burn In Hell” (TWISTED SISTER), an electrifying rendition of songs by the legendary CELTIC FROST and other great artists! The album will be released on the 8th. December and you can start looking forward to the start of the summer festival season! The Pilsen METALFEST is providing this and with DIMMU BORGIR it will be an extra brutal start! What else can I add ? Perhaps just that the band doesn’t play very often and this headline show at Pilsen METALFEST will be one of the few exclusive performances where you can see the legend live!
