 NEUROSIS have announced new vocalist AARON TURNER (SUMAC).

  SCOTT KELLY, vocalist, guitarist for Oakland, California, U.S.A.  atmospheric, post metal legends NEUROSIS  has left the band and music business to focus and healing his family after admitting to abuse.

Friends — happy Spring Equinox. We are so excited to announce that metal legends NEUROSIS will be reuniting for the first time in 7 years, on the sacred lands of the Blackfeet Nation at Fire in the Mountains 2026! The band is presented by Firekeeper Alliance — the non-profit organization FITM works side by side with — who are dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indigenous communities.

All of us on the Director team — Jeremy, Shannon, Shane, Ollie, Ryan, are all truly humbled by the bands trust and dedication to Fire in the Mountains. It is an absolute honor that none of us take lightly. Fire in the Mountains has come to understand that we have a deeper responsibility in the world and that this festival can be a place for resilience, a place for reconnection, a place for reuniting, catharsis, fellowship, and gratitude.

Festival founder and director Jeremy Walker shared:

“We have been working quietly with Neurosis for a long time to make this moment possible. Steve has been one of FITM’s most steadfast champions, and in turn, we strive to be his. To provide the stage for the return of one of the most impactful bands of our generation is more than a milestone—it is a dream realized. I find it difficult to put into words what this day means to me personally. FITM has always been a labor of the soul, a long journey taken by those of us who believe music should leave a mark.
