Randy Blythe, vocalist of Virginia thrash/metal core warriors LAMB OF GOD has discussed (with fans on TWITTER) and commented on the SOPA bill (Stop Online Piracy Act), due to be debated and voted on in the U.S. congress early next year (2012). The SOPA bill would shut down alleged pirate sites hosting copy righted material. Free speech advocates say social networking sites like FACEBOOK and YOU TUBE would suffer and cease to exist as free speech and potential economic gains from web development suppressed..

The reason I ask about SOPA is that I think that most people see it in misguided terms of B&W. It's far deeper than that. This is a corporate battle being fought at a judicial level by PAID LOBBYISTS- neither corporate side REALLY CARES for A) artists/creators rights or B) free speech rights. Get the fuck. The RIAA hasn't done much for me lately. People worry about YouTube getting shutdown, as if it is an altruistic creative. expression outlet. WHO OWNS YOUTUBE? And WHY does YouTube exist? It ain't for you to develop your creative side. This is all about funding, people.
