LOLLAPALOOZA 2012 8/3-5th, 2012 Chicago, Illinois GRANT PARK: CONFIRM BLACK SABBATH, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, AFGHAN WHIGS, AT THE DRIVE IN and MORE..

The Chicago Sun Times and the BROOKLYN VEGAN report that on 4/11/2012 promoters for the 2012 LOLLAPALOOZA FESTIVAL, set to take place 8/3-5th, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois GRANT PARK have confirmed headlining acts (reunited) BLACK SABBATH, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, AFGHAN WHIGS, AT THE DRIVE IN and many more acts. The (1990's) Lollapalooza Festival was the brainchild of Perry Farrel, vocalist of U.S. alternative rockers JANES ADDICTION and was the U.S.A.'s premier alternative traveling rock festival in the 1990's. The LOLLAPALOOZA FESTIVAL has featured JANES ADDICTION, NINE INCH NAILS, ALICE IN CHAINS, PEARL JAM, FISHBONE, METALLICA, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, TOOL, PRIMUS and many more alternative/hard rock acts. In 2005, (after a lackluster LOLLAPALOOZA national tour turnout in 2003) Perry Farell, and C3 PRESENTS (whom produce Austin City Limits Festival) partnered up to revive the lagging LOLLAPALOOZA fest for a two or three date festival in Chicago, Illinois's GRANT PARK.
