Writer, rock critic and CRAWDADDY! founder PAUL WILLIAMS, considered a pioneer in rock reviewing and criticism has passed from early onset dementia, stemming from a 1995 bike accident.
PAUL WILLIAMS started CRAWDADDY from his dorm room. WILLIAMS, by 17 and with full access to the 60's rock scene, had interviewed and hung out with the likes of JANIS JOPLIN, JIM MORISSON, JOHN LENNON and YOKO ONO, BOB DYLAN.
Despite failing health and diminished returns in the context of rock writing, PAUL WILLIAMS re activated CRAWDADDY! in the 90's, uncompromising for the love of music and not money.
PAUL WILLIAMS passed 3/27/2013 in an assisted living facility, as last weekend LENNY KAYE (PATTI SMITH GROUP) organized an exhibit on PAUL WILLIAMS work at BOOHORRAY gallery NYC, NY.
ITP V.013 EDITORS NOTE: Exactly the ethic I model myself after, thank you Mr. Williams, and R.I.P.
