SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR 2013 PROMOTERS:
After in the last few years we gave the – in our opinion – most hopeful newcomer acts a “Rookie” badge and spread them out over the entire festival program, we have revised that concept for SUMMER BREEZE 2013.
Under the banner RIOT OF THE UNDERGROUND we will present six of today's hottest underground bands on the Warm-Up Wednesday, August 14, 2013, on the Camel Stage, exclusively for 3-day ticket holders. We think we have covered a wide stylistic spectrum and that these bands have a bright future ahead of them.
Besides the already well-established New Blood Award, which has been upgraded this year thanks to the involvement of Century Media and EMP, and the Nuclear Blast Label Night, the Warm-Up Wednesday now has an added attraction with RIOT OF THE UNDERGROUND, which makes it even more worthwhile to arrive early for SUMMER BREEZE 2013 and support the underground. And who knows? Maybe you will never get to see some of these bands in such an intimate setting ever again...

Ladies and gentleman, it is a pleasure to introduce – in their own words – “four dudes doing fucked up music for a fucked up world”. Please meet NASTY. Okay, maybe their music is not as fucked up as stated above, but their new album is a strong hardcore record, so NASTY – who have been active for eight years already – will deliver a dedicated and extremely brutal show. And who knows, maybe with their show in Dinkelsbühl, as part of the RIOT OF THE UNDERGROUND event, will lay the foundations for NASTY's rise to the major league of hardcore?! We are looking forward to it...

The German death metal underground is alive and more active than ever. So it would be a shame if we didn't book THE most hopeful newcomer band in old-school death metal for our Underground Stage. Ladies and gentlemen, DESERTED FEAR! Their debut album 'My Empire' makes all fans of good old Swedish death metal cry a tear of joy, as you can't possibly play this style in a more authentic way than these lads from Thuringia. Eyewitnesses of the band's first live activities have been extremely excited as well, so we can only recommend you mark this gig in red in your SUMMER BREEZE 2013 festival calendar.

If a band name themselves after a track off of the Swedish death metal classic 'Left Hand Path', they have already scored a few points with all old-school death metal fans. And since their music is in the same vein – namely, old-school – it looks like REVEL IN FLESH are doing things right. At least that's what is heard from the death metal underground, which the boys from Schwäbisch Gmünd have managed to revolutionize with their debut album 'Deathevocation'. That's why this band is like made for our Underground Stage, where they will surely give you hell. Included in their setlist will be songs from their upcoming album 'Manifest Darkness'!

Occult hard rock is more popular than ever, and, once more, Van Records, the label who brought us The Devil's Blood, have unearthed a jewel. Meet YEAR OF THE GOAT. The Swedish six-piece have a knack for writing dark hard rock songs and creating an occult atmosphere, without the music losing any of its catchiness. Many bands of this genre have already proven that this kind of music works great in a live situation, so we can all look forward to YEAR OF THE GOAT in Dinkelsbühl.
