AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION: POST STATEMENT ON CHESTER BENNINGTON' (LINKIN PARK VOCALIST) DEATH

AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION has sent the below statement and guidelines for media reporting on suicides.

 ITP V.017 EDITORS NOTE:
Interesting regarding media guidelines on reporting on a suicide and perhaps both TMZ, and BLABBERMOUTH.NET. should take note, as  I'm sure the later will.
CHESTER BENNINGTON's ITP V.017 ONLY ONE PER COFFIN'S post was originally (until edited) a rant vs. TMZ and a decoy until BENNINGTON'S family was notified. Family of deceased should not find out via media first, they should be the first to know.
1-Here's a guideline, don't report a death (celebrity nor otherwise) until surviving family is notified and don't state the deceased name until family is notified. Florida media did an excellent job reporting on the ADRENALINE MOB fatal bus accident.
2-Do not tell the specific method of suicide.
3-Irrelevent to the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT-do not post death scene photos.
4-Don't report autopsy nor toxicology reports without surviving families consent.
5-Here's my biggest pet peeve-If you're a conspiracy theorist please knock it off, prove it via professionals or go see one your self.

I lost two acquaintances to a suicide cluster in less than a year of each other in 2006 and 2007 and it was horrid timing for me.
CHESTER BENNINGTON'S suicide on the birthday of late SOUNDGARDEN vocalist CHRIS CORNELL might be considered a suicide cluster as both vocalists were friends and BENNINGTON attended CHRIS CORNELL'S funeral last MAY.

R.I.P. to CHESTER BENNINGTON and condolences to his friends, family and band mates.
