FROM KILL-TOWN DEATH FEST 2020 PROMOTERS:

Announcement #10: Once again, we turn our focus back towards America, where the undergrounds death metal scenes have been spewing forth one great band after another in the recent years. Tonight’s band is from far away from the typical epicentres – all the way from the harsh lands of Wisconsin. The band has only two demos behind them, the latest from 2019, which ended up being one of the most listened to releases of 2019 here at the KTDF headquarters. This three piece, consisting of 2 members from the amazing occult rock band Jex Thoth, has conjured some of the best raw and filthy, yet catchy death metal out there, so it’s with tremendous pleasure that KTDF can present the very first European performance of OSSUARY!!!
Formed in the frigid Wisconsin winter of 2015, Ossuary is the manifestation of power through grief, misanthropy, and the total worship of death. Inspired by visceral loss, fueled by the agony of hopelessness, the band has no use for self-indulgent displays of technicality. Ossuary is thick, black, and scathingly sluggish--a murky, hateful exhibition of death.
After four years of hibernation following 2015's Cremation Ritual, Ossuary gave us their second self-recorded release, Supreme Degradation, in the spring of 2019. The original cassette release from Darkness Shall Rise and the reissue from Maggot Stomp have both sold out, but a release on vinyl is set to come later this year from Me Saco Un Ojo. The band has toured the United States and is traveling to Total Death Over Mexico this March. Kill-Town Death Fest will be their first European appearance.

Announcement #9: Tonight we are excited to present a band all the way from Australia that has never played in Europe before. They have been making quite a bit of noise down under the last couple of years with a great full length and latest an EP released through Iron Lung Records, Blood Harvest and Me Saco Un Ojo. As the contemporary scene is growing stronger in Australia, so is our focus on all the great things coming from there these past years, so its with great pleasure we can present the first ever European show for FACELESS BURIAL!!!
Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2014 - Faceless Burial’s blueprint is to execute ripping, powerful and dynamic death metal.
Sonically, traces of Faceless Burial’s influence can be heard in the long heralded classics from Americas East Coast, Canada and Finland. However, it would be remiss to ignore the bands connection to Melbourne’s current crop of brutal acts (Contaminated, Vile Apparition, Gutless, Incinerated, Ignivomous, Headless Death, Cemetery Urn, Sewercide etc) and Australia’s long running landscape of extreme music (Disenbowlment, Crypt, Star Gazer, Necrotomy, Corpse Molestation, Misery etc).
Themes of hallucinogenic Sci Fi-butchery and nightmarish phantasm’s confront breakneck speeds. Blasts fold into squalid breakdowns as the music plays between harmony and ferocity.
The three piece released a demo in 2015, followed by 2017’s debut album “Grotesque Miscreation” released by Blood Harvest in Europe and Iron Lung records across the US. This was followed up quickly in 2018 with the MLP titled “Muliversal Abbatoir” forging a new bond with Me Saco Un Ojo records. As we start a fresh decade Faceless Burial enter the studio to begin working on their anticipated sophomore album - just in time for their first ever European show at Killtown death fest.

Announcement #8: once again we turn our heads back towards America, this time more specifically Olympia, Washington. The Pacific northwest is well known for their long history of heavy doom and death metal bands and this bands might be one of the best newer bands to emerge from the wet coasts of the northwest. Last year they put out their incredible debut full-length “Disgorged from Psychotic Depths” through Profound Lore Records, which they will be touring Europe to promote this fall. We are therefore delighted to welcome back the crushingly heavy doom death outfit, MORTIFERUM for KTDF VIII!!!
Mortiferum was formed by Max Bowman (guitars, vocals), Chase Slaker (guitars), and Alex Mody (drums, vocals). Their various bands (Bone Sickness, Ēōs) had played shows together regularly in the local scene as the members shared a mutual interest in Finnish and American death metal, and had a similar vision for the music they wanted to play.
In 2016, after several failed attempts to get a band going, the members got together and wrote the songs that became the first demo “Altar of Decay”. They enlisted the help of Dan Fried (Triumvir Foul, Anhedonist) to fill in on bass, and recorded “Altar of Decay” in Mody’s garage. Tracking guitars and drums live in their own space, with part-time keyboard player Ethan Camp as the engineer, Mortiferum were able to capture the songs in their most visceral form. Shortly afterward, Mortiferum recruited Tony Wolfe as their full time bassist. The demo was released by the band themselves and furthermore assisted by an LP release from Profound Lore Records and on cassette by Graceless Records in the US and Extremely Rotten Productions in Europe. Within a year of the release of “Altar of Decay”, Mortiferum embarked on tours with Spectral Voice, Hyperdontia, and Fetid, made numerous fest appearances including the Killtown Death Fest - The Resurrection and finally recorded and released their debut full length, “Disgorged From Psychotic Depths”.
Profound Lore writes “Mortiferum follow-up their lauded 2017 Altar Of Decay demo with their debut LP, Disgorged From Psychotic Depths. With the recognition the band received from within the death metal underground through their demo alongside consistent touring and nonstop live activity, Mortiferum had already brought awareness upon themselves as one of the more notable and promising new US death metal bands today. With Disgorged From Psychotic Depths, the monstrous offering Mortiferum have spewed forth crawls as an anguished slab of death doom filth of the most wretched order. Dark and foreboding through monolithic brutal crestfallen riffs and malformed dissonant rhythmic rumblings, Disgorged From Psychotic Depths is a towering and dreadful benefaction of atmospheric imposing death metal ruin and depravity reeking of the stench of the early ‘90s American and Finnish death metal scenes.”

Announcement #7: tonight we are excited to present to you a new band who has just recently emerged on the scene. They had their first release in September 2019 which was a great demo really showing whats to come. The band is something as rare as a German – Basque trio which plays furosious death metal of the old with strong references to the glory days of extreme metal. Arisen from the ashes of the soon defunct Necros Christos, its with great pleasure we can present SIJJIN as part of the KTDF VIII lineup!!!
From beyond the gates of perception, the new power trio of Sijjin arrives on the scene. Deeply rooted in the 80ties, where death and thrash metal melted into a furious, fast and occult brand, Sijjin`s music is as raving as this music should be.
The lineup of Sijjin consists of old veterans Malte Gericke (Bass & Vocals) and Ivan Hernandez (Drums) both known for their work in Necros Christos, while guitar wizard Ekaitz Garmendia hailing from Basque thrashers Legen Beltza among others.
The first demo entitled Angel Of The Eastern Gate was unleashed in 2019, officially distributed by Sepulchral Voice Records on tape. A re-release on CD and vinyl will follow soon.
Behold, as this is Death Metal. Feel your mind being shifted into a black void of utter chaos, where primeval atoms still roam in bizarre ways, a region of horrible contortions, where amorphous entities lurk in the towering shadows.
There`s one name, one entity and one aural destruction for all of that.
Hell is Sijjin. Sijjin is in Hell. DIE!

Announcement #6: In 2018 we brought you Torture Rack, Triumvir Foul and Sempiternal Dusk. Tonight’s band features members and ex members of all these great bands. They have two full lengths plus a couple of EP’s behind them and they are fucking crushingly good, so we thought it was about time to bring them over. They have never played Europe before and they will only come over to do this KTDF special one-off set, so this is your only chance to see them live on this side of the Atlantic for now. Please welcome one of Portlands best contemporary death metal bands; WITCH VOMIT!!!
Formed in 2012 by Tempter and Filth, Witch Vomit plays dark death metal in the American tradition with elements of Scandinavian evil and ancient doom metal. With four studio releases in the past five years the band has grown from a primitive two piece project into a powerful death metal quartet that “serves up raw yet atmospheric soundscapes of horror.”
The band’s most recent release “Buried Deep in a Bottomless Grave“ was released in August of 2019 through 20 Buck Spin and has been described as “An endless hole, dug by a band at its prime. It's focused, well produced and to the point. It manages to keep genre's early spirit alive, while adding modern old school aesthetics that makes it relevant, contemporary, and most certainly one of the most interesting death metal albums of 2019.” Witch Vomit scarcely leaves the Northwestern graveyard for live appearances. This will be Witch Vomits first European appearance, the tomb is open and it awaits you.....

Announcement #5: Tonight we are excited to welcome back one of the greatest contemporary underground death metal bands from Finland. They have graced KTDF twice prior with their crushing sound and live performances – once in 2010 and once in 2014. Last year they brought out their 3rd full length “Cadaver Circulation”, which ones again proved that this is one of the heaviest bands out there. On the album they are taking their sound to a heavier and darker place, so we had to bring them back as one of our headliners for the “Gloomy Sunday”! We are excited to share with you that KRYPTS will join the lineup for KTDF VIII!!!
During their formation in 2008, the vision behind Krypts was to play Death metal, while in the past decade their sound has evolved more complex and sinister. The core sound has remained the same: a dark mixture of Death & Doom metal.
Krypts have steadily spread their reputation and played around the world. However their first concert outside Finland, and second live show ever, was 10 years ago in the first edition of KTDF. Having witnessed also its funeral, Krypts are eager to return and play one of their few European dates at this year's festival.
Come prepared! You will be hypnotized under the spell of atmospheric Death Doom...
The band has released three full-length albums (‘Unending Degradation’, ‘Remnants of Expansion’ and ‘Cadaver Circulation’) through Dark Descent Records. Prior to these, they have released ‘Open the Crypt’ 12”-demo and a self-titled 7” EP through Me Saco Un Ojo and now defunct Detest Records.
