KORPIKLAANI are a Finland based folk metal band combining elements of  metal with native folk music. KORPIKLAANI employ a variety of instrumentation including accordion, flute, mandolin, violin, viofon, djembe and more.   .

KORPIKLAANI'S  "JYLHÄ" kicks off with "VERIKOIRA", a danceable track  sung in their native language , with tribal and thrash drum rhythms. . The violin gives way to beautiful accordion notes bringing a soulful feel and atmosphere to VERIKOIRA".

.. KORPIKLAANI'S  "NIEMI" kicks off with prominent interplay between the accordion and violin set to  thrash drumming, perfect for a jig pit and pogoing at a live show.

KORPIKLAANI'S  "LEVALUHTA" features  the band experimenting with reggae and ska consolidated  with thrash metal and the bands trademark violin and accordion. Get a drink and get your jig on in the mosh pit.

.

KORPIKLAANI''S  "MYLLY" kicks off with pompous metal riff and violin, a slower, mid paced rock track. The violin accentuates  "MYLLY'S" melody breathing and co existing well with the tracks guitars.

. KORPIKLAANI''S  "TUULETON" starts off with acoustic guitar balladry into the full band kicks in for an epic rocker. The vocals, violin and guitars work well together and vocalist JONNE JARVELA's clean vocals are excellent and well performed.

KORPIKLAANI''S  "SANATON MAA" opens with the violin accelerating the main melody with accordion interplay consolidated to hard rock. .  Again, an excellent vocal performance from JONNE JARVELA.

KORPIKLAANI''S "KLURU" is a slightly heavier rocker with prominent guitars complimented by  violin (instead of guitar) , flute solos and tight drumming.

KORPIKLAANI''S  "MIERO" is a mid paced, somber rock track,  complete with both accordion and violin solos.

KORPIKLAANI''S  "POHJA", is fast paced track with thrash drumming and a prominent violin "riff".

KORPIKLAANI''S  "POHJA" is played so tightly that I can vision a good mosh pit to this track, impossible not to dance to it.

KORPIKLAANI''S "HUOLETTOMAT", is rocker of a track as the violin plays a beautiful melody and the band invoke a beautiful folk rock anthem. .

KORPIKLAANI''S  "ANOLAN AUKEAT" is a mid paced folk rock track as the violin integrates a beautiful melody and solo.

KORPIKLAANI''S  "PIDOT" opens as as acoustic folk/ rock complete with slide guitar and a prominent violin melody. KORPIKLAANI''S  "PIDOT" speeds up the tempo for  awesome violin and accordion solos.

KORPIKLAANI''S "JYLHÄ" closes with "JUURET",  slower and doomier for starters, "JUURET" blossoms into some quality folk metal.

KORPIKLAANI are an international treasure and pioneers in the folk/metal genre from a country rich in heavy and extreme metal tradition.

KORPIKLAANI''S "JYLHÄ" features some awesome musicianship as the violin often carries melodies and is used INSTEAD of a guitar solo.

The METAL element of KORPIKLAANI''S "JYLHÄ" is tempered for hard rock leaving room for more folk elements and good songwriting.

JONNE JARVELA'S vocal performance is emotive complimenting these folk/rock anthems,

I like KORPIKLAANI''S  experimentation with ska and reggae ( "LEVALUHTA") as the band isn't afraid to do something different.

KORPIKLAANI are good songwriters as the band write good folk/rock anthems and emote enough positive energy to get a good jig going in the mosh pit.

I just wish I could translate KORPIKLAANI''S song titles and lyrics as perhaps singing in English could expand their audience.

So raise your glass and do a jig for another awesome  KORPIKLAANI opus. .  '
