Here's a new Spectral Lore song created specifically for a compilation. Long story short: the Greek government has attempted to pass a law targeting left wing musicians by adding a part concerning 'incitement to violence about political opinion' in a law about hate speech in media and music, essentially equating saying, for instance, 'i want to punch someone because he says he wants to kill all Jews' with 'i want to kill all Jews'. Such laws have already been used in Europe to censor and persecute any musician that can be deemed threatening to the establishment, such as in the case of hip hop musicians in Spain. The lyrics in 'murderous light' attempt to portray the hypocrisy of tyrants that will present themselves as the protectors of the weak while being literally the ones who are preying upon them and reminding them that to oppose the evil of the world, swords will need to be unsheathed and lyrics will need to be dangerous and scary to the authorities.
37 Greek bands and musicians from all kinds of backgrounds have gathered to portray their opposition to the law. Also funds earned from the compilation will go towards a collective in Athens that provides food for the ones most in need.
