FROM ROCKHARZ 2021 PROMOTERS:

Cancel ROCKHARZ 2021
Dear ROCKHARZers, dear ROCKHARZers,
With heavy hearts, we hereby announce the cancellation of our ROCKHARZ 2021 Unfortunately, this move has become inevitable for us.
We are so sorry, because not only you as our guests but also we as organizers were very excited to bring the airfield Ballenstedt back to earthquake after one year's abstinence. We finally wanted to see people who enjoy what we've set up throughout the year. We wanted to soak up the atmosphere again, year after year by year, by your exuberance, the cooperation of all involved, the celebration mood on the court and the music we love. Unfortunately, there won't be any, because we believe that exactly that can't happen with us this year either.
Already in our statement, which we published some time ago, we expressed the need for planning security. We hoped to get these after the announcement that on 22.03. MPK will deal with the topics catering, hotels and events and their perspectives. At least we wanted a tendency. Unfortunately, these areas of our lives had to once again stand behind comprehensibly acute current developments and - unfortunately, we also had to find out - behind hours of political disputes. Nevertheless, we have perceived a tendency for ourselves, but not a positive one.
Now we had to make our own decision.
In the foreseeable that a ROCKHARZ as we know it would not be expected this year without severe restrictions on the freedom of every individual participant this year, unfortunately, we have had to choose to cancel again. We believe it's better NOT to celebrate than to celebrate in such a way that it can't be fun. Because that led the purpose of our festival to leave everyday life behind for a few days and whistle at certain social conventions and sometimes ′′ let five be straight ′′ because you are among like-minded people, ad absurdum. All current concepts for conducting festivals during the pandemic have ′′ bucks ′′ for us, which we don't want to swallow to our guests and partners and crews. All are associated with immense expenses, waiting times, costs and freedom restrictions for all participants, who are not realistically feasible for a ROCKHARZ for four to five days and with almost 20.000 guests. And by the way: all these concepts are currently on the table, but we have hardly ever seen an in-depth employment with them by the decisive bodies.
Surely one or the other will wonder if we couldn't have taken some more time with this decision. We can clearly deny that. If we had postponed the decision for a few more weeks, the financial consequences of a cancellation would have been noticeably higher and it could have even resulted in sustainable consequences for the coming years.
With our decision made now, we can now announce that we will now focus on the planning of the ROCKHARZ 2022 As always, the date for the ROCKHARZ 2022 is in KW 27, i.e. from 6.7.2022 to 9.7.2022. All confirmed bands have or have. We will receive the offer from us to play at equal conditions at ROCKHARZ 2022 Many have already given positive feedback.
With the - almost sold out - tickets for 2021 and additional camping services (pitches incl. Electricity connection) we will deal with similarly as last year. That means we'll be offering both an exchange in 2022 tickets and a refund option. But we will simplify the procedure for this a bit. Hopefully, we will be able to tell you more about this within the coming weeks. As long as we ask for your patience again.
Well, now it's out.....
As a small bright spot, we would nevertheless like to say that we are currently also working on alternative event concepts. Nothing digital though, nothing stream, no drive-in cocoores, but if you do, just something solid. With crazy things like drinking beer together, getting to know who, just walking around somewhere, standing next to each other, smiling at someone or tapping on the shoulder and saying: Man, you here too! But closer then when the time comes...
We hope that you understand our decision and continue to keep us faithful as a festival. We would be very happy if, like last year, many of you would choose the exchange option. Also we will be putting up supporter merch again, which we also wish will be accepted as well as last time.
We wish all our colleagues who are still fully in the plans for their festival this year and haven't given up hope and good luck!!! And to all who have already cancelled, or perhaps still have to, a long one Breath and a loyal and understanding audience.
We need to keep our festival culture up for the future! There will be a time after the pandemic! We will meet again at the devil's wall!
Your ROCKHARZ team
