BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT are a Finland based extreme metal band spawned from the ashes of Finnish melodic death metal legends CHILDREN OF BODOM,.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT guitarist/vocalist ALEXI LAIHO (Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho) , died 12/29/2020 (at 41) in the middle of recording BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S anticipated debut.

Topping off ALEXI LAIHO'S legacy is BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S three track EP debut "PAINT THE SKY WITH BLOOD".

"PAINT THE SKY WITH BLOOD" kicks off with the title track a technical rager of a track complete with light keyboards, blastbeats and gang vocals.. "Fight, Fight, Fight!" screams .ALEXI LAIHO as the band segues into some awesome guitar solos.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S "PAYBACK'S A BITCH" is a melodic, technical thrasher of a track. "PAYBACK'S A BITCH" features a breakdown of keyboards as the band consolidates technical, melodic death metal with death and roll and solid riffs and solos.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S cover of DISSECTION'S classic tune "WHERE DEAD ANGELS LIE" features ALEXI LAIHO''S appropriate blackened screams as the cover is close to the original with a better guitar tone and light keyboards.

...And that's all folks, that's all ALEXI LAIHO left us with.

. BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT "PAINT THE SKY WITH BLOOD" is a heavier, trashier extension of CHILDREN OF BODOM as the band consolidate technical death metal with melody, aggression and good quality songwriting.

As we are still mourning BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S main man ALEXI LAIHO'S untimely death, I can't help to wonder what COULD have been if BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT were allowed to reach their full potential.

I'm absolutely sure BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S strong musicianship, songwriting and balls to the wall heaviness would have inspired rabid fan worship and given a few years (of touring) BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT' would be HUUUUUUUGE. Huge enough to rival the legacy of the legendary CHILDREN OF BODOM catalog.

However, we are lucky enough to squeeze "PAINT THE SKY WITH BLOOD" (EP) out of BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT for some headbanging excellence.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT'S. "PAINT THE SKY WITH BLOOD" (EP) is ALEXI LAIHO'S parting gift as you can hear him scream and shred from the heavens.
