OPHIDIAN I : POST NEW RELEASE "DESOLATE"

Iceland based technical death metal warriors OPHIDIAN I have posted the bands anticipated new release "DESOLATE", due to be unleashed 7/16/2021 via SEASON OF MIST.

OPHIDIAN I unleashed "SOLVET SAECLUM", 6/15/2012 via SFC RECORDS.

We approached Eliran Kantor to do the artwork for ‘Desolate’. Eliran is in a league of his own when it comes to modern album artworks. Leaps and bounds ahead of most contemporaries within the global metal scene; an absolute treasure that the metal world should consider a privilege to have his talents enlisted to ornament and bring to life many of the best releases of our times.

Many of the lyrics are set in a world that shares many similarities with the one we hail from (Iceland), but yet is not the same. Territories that are harsh and unrelenting, uninhabitable yet inhabited, and filled with dangers and hardships many of which are yet to be explored. These lands draw parallel equally from our lives, homes and music.

When it came to creating art to piece together our music we wanted it to represent this world of ours and serve as a glimpse into the collective heart and soul of Ophidian I. Eliran masterfully brought our concepts to life and acutely captured the spirit of ‘Desolate’
