OMOPHAGIA are a Swiss  brutal death metal band featuring technical flourishes and symphonic elements.

Here ITP V.022 has OMOPHAGIA new release  "REBIRTH IN BLACK" on tap to review.

OMOPHAGIA'S  "REBIRTH IN BLACK" opens with a symphonic intro, the calm before the storm.

OMOPHAGIA'S "THE CONSEQUENCES OF GUILT" features some excellent tech death metal riffing with vocals reminiscent of MIKE DISALVO era CRYPYOPSY  backed with horrific screams.

Blastbeats adorn "THE CONSEQUENCES OF GUILT" with quality syncopated beats.

OMOPHAGIA'S  "REDEMPTION ON SELF DESTRUCTION" (featuring KARL SANDERS OF NILE) enters with a dramatic symphonic intro and segues well within the strings into some savage riffing. "REDEMPTION ON SELF DESTRUCTION" morphs from a mid paced groove to a slightly faster tempo with occasional blast beats and double bass drumming. "REDEMPTION ON SELF DESTRUCTION" features some excellent solos and an atmospheric sound.

The title track from  OMOPHAGIA'S "REBIRTH IN BLACK" slays in an awesome combination of groove, technical riffs and power. Two minutes into  "REBIRTH IN BLACK"  riffs are performed right in the pocket with the rhythm section making for a very inventive breakdown.

.OMOPHAGIA'S  "THE PLAGUE" features NILE like riffs for starters before blasting off into some more dramatic and good riffing."THE PLAGUE" gets technical with some vicious riffing as chants can be heard in the back round.

OMOPHAGIA'S  "THOUGHTS OF THE EARTH" slays combining tech elements with savage riffing. "THOUGHTS OF THE EARTH" features sick riffs and interesting vocal interplay ala "BENI".

OMOPHAGIA'S  "SERVE AS SLAVE" features vicious riffing as the blast beats propel the song into a new stratosphere. . "SERVE AS SLAVE"  features some interesting vocal phrasing via "BENI",

OMOPHAGIA'S. "INSIGHTS OF A DYING MAN" is another brutal track featuring atmospheric levels of insanity and some symphonic and tech elements..  "INSIGHTS OF A DYING MAN" is dramatic in scope, insightful in execution. .

OMOPHAGIA'S. "ALL FOR NONE" features rolling riffs set to an insatiable groove. "ALL FOR NONE" features  an excellent, although short solo to dies for.

Blast beats and vicious riffing propel  OMOPHAGIA'S. "TIME TELLS" as the track features both technical and symphonic elements.

. OMOPHAGIA'S  "REBIRTH IN BLACK" closes with "I LIVE FOR YOUR DEATH", a brutal track consolidates with melodic sections and total brutality.

OMOPHAGIA are one underrated band... Consolidating technical wizardry, with brutality and symphonic elements is no east task.

However,  OMOPHAGIA add all of those elements into the blackest cauldron for some epic, goovy compositions.

OMOPHAGIA'S  "REBIRTH IN BLACK" sets a darker atmosphere as this is the bands longest and most ambitious release..

If you like technical death metal withy brutality, groove and quality songwriting and musicianship, you'll ADORE OMOPHAGIA.

Hopefully OMOPHAGIA will get bigger.
